This is the only show I went to on Leg 1.  Got the bootleg and have gotten most of the way through it.  This bootleg CD sound outstanding!

As for the show, now that I've had a few weeks to digest it and am now getting to re-live it through the bootleg ---  somebody said it earlier, it feels like Eddie is talking before almost every song!  I mean that's overstating it, but it really is to the point where I feel it really interrupts the flow.  I think he admitted doing it to rest his throat, so don't get me wrong, I'm glad he toughed it out to get through the show.  The EB thing with the lady who raised money is cool, but there are literally like 5-minute breaks between songs at times.

"Out of My Mind" was performed decently well for how much of a rarity it is... "Severed Hand" seemed really great, and "You Are" was nice as well (one little Ed flub on vocals).
Night 1 was a severely epic show that left you floating.

Night 2 was definitely more slipshod and Eddie's 3rd or 4th day in Vegas is proof of why you need to get out of that place pretty quickly. Still a super special night!

Thanks! I have been pretty fortunate in the seat department last 5 shows. Baltimore may be the end of that 😆 🤣

Deb, the way you post these pictures every few days has me imagining that you're spending the intervening times in the dark room developing them in vats of chemicals.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Haha I have spent time in a darkroom many years ago 😆 with black and white and a color darkroom.

I just took a lot and I edit some nights and not others. I don't have many people to show my photos to so just drop a few in here sometimes

I can’t sleep in Las Vegas. No matter how old I get, my body just refuses to let me sleep when the debauchery of Vegas is steps outside of the hotel room door. It’s been 15 years since I was last here, and I now have a wife, couple of kids, a dog, and I still can’t sleep when the Blackjack tables and bottomless Titos and sodas are beckoning me.

By the time Saturday night’s show kicked off, you could see that Vegas had started to have its way with folks. In my sector of the pit, it was a shaky start. Stone seemed to struggle to find the intro to Of the Girl, and not more than 10 seconds into the song, some dude standing next to me with a full Rum and Coke passes out and falls into me, leaving the right half of me soaking wet. Someone standing near me was kind enough to help him over to Security where they ushered him off. No kidding, 30 seconds later, some lady behind me spills the majority of her mega beer all over my back. Funny enough (in hindsight), she would continue to splash beer over me all night long as she jumped around like a 10-year-old at a Taylor Swift concert. I probably had more booze spilled on me than I actually ingested that night. It was a rough start to the show for me, but I wasn’t about to give up.

Then Low Light kicked in, and just like that, I was back. Fuck the fact that I was soaked in Caribbean rum and Mexican beer, I was is Vegas for my 2nd PJ show in three days, standing next to my buddy who was seeing them for the first time. Garden took me to a whole new level, and I was locked in. But EV’s voice sounded as rough as many people in the pit looked. Vegas had started to get the best of folks, and you could definitely hear it in his voice. The boys were going to be muscling their way through this show.

There was a lot of banter, arguably too much. This show seemed to struggle to get into the groove. On Thursday night they kicked the door down and just had full command over what they were trying to do. Saturday was a bit more relaxed and meandering, which I guess is cool in its own way. These were the only two PJ shows I had ever seen, and despite hearing 9 of the same songs between the two nights, they couldn’t have been more different. Or maybe Vegas had the best of me by this point. Who’s to say?

As much as I loved Alive, Ledbetter, and Setting Sun on Thursday, hearing the same songs close out the second night left me disappointed. Same with Porch closing out the main set. I expected repeats between the two nights, but this I did not expect, and I think that had a profound effect on how I remember this show. I don’t know if LV1 was objectively better than LV2, but in my mind there was no comparison between the two. As far as my buddy was concerned, the it was one of the best rock concerts he had ever seen, and I was happy for him. Listening to the bootleg numerous times over the past 6-months I find myself surprised over and over again as to how much I enjoyed listening to the show when I fast forwarded through all of EV’s bantering.

After the show I met up with my wife and we promptly dropped a few hundred bucks at the blackjack table. My $1K of house money from Thursday night’s big win had dropped to $200 during the course of the weekend. By the time we left for the airport later the next day, we were back to even, which when you think about it was a victory in of itself. If I never make it back to Vegas for the rest of my life, I would be fine with that. But if PJ were to play The Sphere? Well, then I will see you fools there!!!
