I hope the intel is off and things change but it is seeming like Europeans may have a little wait to endure until we see the band again. If the band are downing tools for 1-2 years that realistically rules out summer 2026. so perhaps it will be 2027 until the boys return. That would be a blow, they aint getting any younger so the concept of not having many more chances to see them tour over here becomes real and painful.
He could have meant 1-2 years in the US…. Also next June/July is 1-2 years away
hearing from a usually very very credible source to expect nothing until fall 2026 at the earliest.
Naturally I hope either he's wrong (he isnt usually) or things change and a big offer is made to get them over here.

@pdalowsky - is this the information we use to kick off the new "The Official 2026 Tour Rumor Thread"? Seems like an excellent starting point.

Could be much much worse. At least they said there are coming back. Hopefully it will not be as long as people are starting to fear
Hawaii 2006 Ed said it would be a while before they play songs again. They were in Europe June 2007. Denver 2022 he said something similar, they were back in the US 12 months later.
My current bet is that they do shows in fall 2026 as it is a 12+ month break, but who knows. They’ve played quite a few shows since Sept 2023 by their standards, or even since 2022.

Five straight years with shows in the US. Yes we all want more, but that's a long streak for them.
^100%. It may be awhile. But do not sleep on the Earthlings. They put on great shows although tickets tend to be more expensive than Pearl Jam. If I remember correctly.

I'm hearing the same thing.
Late 2026 IF the new album progresses quickly enough and they want to push it out and go on tour then. It could be April or May 2026 and they realize August/September isn't going to happen. They could also put it on ice until April-June 2027.
I wouldn't expect any rumors or leaks until July 2026 at the very earliest and even then, I'm having low expectations.

So if EV / Earthlings tour later this year, EV will be occupied. MFC occupied as well with Soundgarden R&RHOF. So I guess if they don’t record the album over the next few months the recording will be pushed into 2026 which would mean a 2027 release / tour (especially if say EV does a US East Coast/Canada or Europe tour in 2026)

I think they are most certainly taking a well deserved break. However, I would be surprised if we don’t see/ hear from the band before 2027. Jeff had some great remarks at the end of the Rick Beato interview about life and loss. He talks about how he would drop anything to play with the guys, not taking the time they have together for granted, etc. I thought it was really genuine/ powerful message. Mike also agreed that he’s at his best when they are all together. They’ve got a ton of great momentum going right now. I think they’ll build on that.
They only played 11 shows after being off for FIVE months!!!! Thats, five MONTHS, not days, not even weeks, but MONTHS!!! Thats a nice stretch, one us working mutts only dream of….

5 years - 60 US shows. Not a lot. But certainly see this being a longer break than I am comfortable with!

Door 1: Album release and tour late 2026. Door 2: Album release and tour early 2027. Door 3: Album-less tour late 2026 and album release early 2027.
I really don't see door 3 opening.

At least I'm seeing the Earthlings at Ohana N1 so that's not bad ... Earthlings tour would be nice again, Chad Smith's groove even on some PJ songs is worth seeing live!
