So, yesterday the merch line in the VIP section was about an hour long. Today, only a few people in line. Picked up the pelican poster because it’s nice and I just want a change from the skulls and skeletons. It’s very nice.

I’m very happy to reveal my poster for @pearljam at the @theohanafest
in California tomorrow! This one means a lot to me for several reasons.
I was initially invited to work on a poster for Pearl Jam back at the
start of the year, but ultimately had to pull out of the commission due
to my eye surgery. I’ve loved these guys since early 90’s high school
and always hoped that I might get the chance to work with them someday,
so it was heartbreaking to have to pass it up! However, everyone was
super gracious and I was told that as soon as I was fit and ready, we’d
work on something. 6 months later, this is the first project I’ve
completed since recovering my vision, and it feels like the perfect one.
For
the poster, I chose to feature the California Brown Pelican, which is
native to the area. This guy has been on a journey of recovery too,
appearing on the endangered list for many years, due to poisoning in the
food chain causing them to lay brittle eggs. So I wanted to celebrate
their triumphant return. As such the piece shows our hero proudly
nesting on a full clutch of strong eggs.
My
pen and ink illustration is based on a beautiful photo I found by a guy
named Jim Howard. I reached out to Jim to ask whether I could use his
photo for reference, he loved the idea and we ended up corresponding a
lot during the creation of the poster. Jim is a Seabird Biologist at the
California Institute of Environmental Studies and he shared more
stunning photos and advised me on the journey of the pelican, which we
added as a little bit of backstory printed on the reverse of the poster.
Thanks Jim!
Huge thanks to @mrtsurt for inviting me to work on this very special project.
The
poster will be available at the festival, but I also have a limited
number of variant artist copies in hand right now and I’m going to sign
these and put them on sale in the next few days! The only way to know
about this drop will be via email - so please click the link in my bio
and sign up to my mailing list if you’d like to be informed!

Do you know the size of the poster tube for these posters? Will only get one if it will fit in my small locker. I noticed tubes are shorter? I do like pelican too.. living in San Diego used to see so many but they were dying off. Thanks.

19", but to be on the safe side call it 20. Don't forget the lockers may have a diagonal to work with, so even if they're smaller, it may still fit 👍

If the poster tube does not fit in your locker (I don’t think they are deep enough but could be wrong), the locker attendants are also checking poster tubes and skate decks for $10/item.
Anyone have any updates on the Oliver Barrett MSG 1 APs?
Just got an email that it shipped.
