The guy promising to cherish his AP today is the guy narrowing down his portfolio at full market rate in 2 years
Meh. I've bought plenty of APs over the years to actually have them. I (usually) don't buy them if I already have some other version, and if I were to sell any, I will ask for something reasonable. If I ever sell any of our Pearl Jam/Eddie stuff, my first stop would be here, and probably for face value. Not everyone who compulsively buys posters is a flipper.
This is great hypothetical generosity that I rarely if ever see in Lost Dogs
I would guess there are far more of us than you think, but you don't see us because we just never want to sell anything. Probably should, but can't bear it. "I'll just buy another portfolio! It's fine!"
"I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the [shows I've done]. Some folks just have one, others they got none..."

Oh that's me too. Less so with S/N editions but posters in general.
I'm starting to drift further out from my main point but in my experience once one of these collectors is ready to partially or fully liquidate it's at or near market prices. Which is totally fine. That's the obvious reason to be collecting LE items. Over the years I've become less and less concerned about someone realizing that profit in the short term vs long term. Especially with so many non-limited items being so plentiful.

I think the best way is to sell it at above face value, but discounted from market. That way, the buyer can feel like they're getting a deal, and there is less likelihood of a flipper buying it and selling it for full market.

Sure but you run the risk of that buyer turning around and getting the markup. I kinda had this happen once ages ago. Someone lamenting missing a poster so I sold them an extra at face. Was sold at market rate in a "life happens" sale a little over a year later.
If it was someone I knew I would give them a deal no problem. Semi-anonymous internet person not so much.
I'll just say this... Seeing 10C members getting consistently shut out on posters and then seeing something like this on eBay a few minutes later just doesn't feel right. With Ames especially, since they are essentially part of PJ, it seems like they could at least make some sort of effort to give 10C members an advantage on some of these.

They'll be selling for cost or less in a months time. And most of those sellers are likely on these boards as we speak.

Sad state of affairs... over 10% of the rainbow foils sold this morning have wound up on eBay already (active listings plus recently sold). I don't think there is a fix for this so I am probably wasting my time complaining, but it sure would be nice if 10c members got first dibs at these numbered poster drops.

Yeah…it’s non-sense. I’m waiting for the Philly Variant to come back to cost…lol

I received my Van Orton AP yesterday from Wrigley... it's number but not signed. Kind of irked about this to be honest. When I pay for an A/P I want a signature. that's part of why I'm buying it and paying extra $.
Is everyone's like this, or am I an anomaly? Did i just miss that statement in the fineprint when checking out in a hurry?
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Because the artist is Italian and they didn’t ship the posters to them to sign. Same when Ken Taylor (Australian) does an AP. For some reason you usually find only the US, Canadian and British artists sign the APs. Often artists from other countries just sell numbered and not signed through places like F4D, Half Hazard Press etc

Understood...
Just wanted to make sure I that my A/P isn't an anomaly and looking for someone else to confirm the A/Ps are unsigned.
With that said... I will also point out that the Loeffler A/P is shipping from GERMANY and his shipping was CHEAPER than the F4D's shipping charge...

I believe the artist did divulge this prior to their sale.

I hate when an artist has a variant is numbered and not signed. I only bye AP if they are signed and numered. I got the Brad Klausen purple varient signed yesterday. I have a Steve Thomas varient from the Eddie Vedder and the earthlings and Emek ( Foo Fighter's) . I have no desire to flip them.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't like the Van Orten?
