Was your first pearl jam show an infamous one?

I just happened to be looking at a recent thread, and saw one user, @HailHailVitalogy , had the Uniondale show as their first one, which I think would be a hell of an introduction to pearl jam shows! I’d love to hear your stories if you’ve been to one of these shows. Obviously, the Long Island one would be perceived as a “negative” infamous example, but I’m all about the positive so crazy setlists, surprise guests - my definition of infamous can stretch to encompass lots of shows 😊 For example Halifax would def qualify as it’s the only time pearl jam were in the Maritimes, and that’s where Ed discovered our Alexander Keith’s 8 pack of beer.

Mine was Hartford 1996 when a barricade got tipped over. It was the year that they had the bumper sticker tickets instead of Ticketmaster tix due to the feud. Saw a burning car on the way home.

My first pearl jam bootleg! I still laugh at the hilarious banter from Ed when he sings "That's what you get when you push and shove"

Uniondale was my first show. Listening to that boot on repeat all summer is what turned me into an obsessive. The band was incredible. The moment at the end was one more confirmation that Long Island does not agree with me…

No but my 2nd & 3rd were the Let’s Play Two shows at Wrigley. Ran into Jeremy Allen White at a dive bar after the first show. Quite a legendary night for me.

Show #1: Columbia, MD 09/18/1998 (Merriweather)

Show #2: Washington DC 09/19/1998 (DAR Constitution Hall)

They used one or two of those songs on Live on 2 Legs (Daughter…I believe a few others).

Infamous is a bad word to describe this one I guess, but does Mansfield III 2003 count? Acoustic Pearl Jam before Sleater-Kenney before Electric Pearl Jam? Maybe infamous because I believe they paid some curfew fines for these (non-repeated-songs) shows.

We tried so hard to get tix to those shows at MSG in July, but could not. Ended up getting tix to Holmdel in a drop.

First show was Virginia Beach '98.  Not infamous.  Notable b/c they played No Way for the third time that tour and then took it out of the rotation for 11 years before playing it again in 2009.  Got played a few times up 'til 2014 and re-entered hibernation it seems.

Edited to say that Black from Live on Two Legs came from the VB '98 show so there's that.
