We are getting 90% in NYC. I ordered my eclipse glasses. Who is watching? I was just talking to my friend who lives in Indy. They are in the path for the total eclipse there. He said it’s a big deal there. I think the closest total to me is in Buffalo - but I am ok with the 90%. Are any of you in the path for the total eclipse?

    I'm at 80%
Was at 100% a few years ago
It's cool to see and experience

The 100% is coming right through our county in Southern Illinois. They are expecting thousands of people to travel to our area. It might turn into a cluster. I will be trying to drive home from work about a half hour after the peak.

This eclipse won’t be visible from the UK. I’m not sure when the next one there will be.

Not sure what percentage we are getting but should be cool. Last one that I remember well was back when i was on 4th or 5th grade (mid 80's). We got to see that. I kinda remember the one from like 10-15 years ago (we didn't get it too much in PA though).

Thinking about taking a drive out for it to see totality.  3 minutes of totality is pretty cool.

That is a long time. Interesting. How far?

We're driving about 4 hours to Cinco to stay for the weekend. From there it's about 45 minutes to an hour drive to totality. I was about a 4 hours drive from the last one and didn't go, and have regretted it since. So we're doing it this time!
I was just talking to a friend how there hasn't been nearly as much build up for this one compared to last time.

that's pretty cool. My mom and sister live near Rochester. I guess they'll be participating in the event. I'll have to ask them.

We have totality about an hour away. 2 minutes, not 4 like Buffalo, but also don’t have to drive 5 hours each way to see it.

Looks like we are in the 85-90% range which isn't too shabby.

People started to arrive in big numbers in our area for the eclipse yesterday. The campgrounds are full and there are people who are setting up RVs in empty lots. A lot of businesses are closing at noon tomorrow. Should be interesting.

We are only going to see a partial one but I am going to try and set a camera out. I watched a most perfect one years ago in the middle of a forest in Hungary, hugging a big fluffly dog and watching a bunch of hippies go bananas. Enjoy, everyone!

My wife mentioned she knows some people here who made reservations quite awhile ago to be in Dallas today for the eclipse.  Apparently the weather is such that they won't be able to watch it.
