How long do you think it will take TM to open Fan-to-Fan for Leg 1?

mwplummwplum Posts: 1,529
I won’t go into a long explanation as to why it’s to TM’s benefit to stall, other than to make the simple point that, the longer they keep face value sales turned off (ie not allowing fan-to-fan), the more likely people will be fomo’d into paying the exorbitant “premium” prices (as that is all they will see when logging in). Given that most shows still have a lot of premiums available, what’s your ballpark guess for when fan-to-fan goes live for Leg 1?

Tour starts on May 4, it will open soon. Last year it opened May 8, the week after 10c tickets were distributed so I think sometime in the next two weeks for sure. The theory that TM will delay making it available due to ulterior motives hasn't been the case in previous years.

Looking back on my emails from last year, the seat assignments (after the whole SNAFU) were sent 4/28. On 6/16, I was able to get F2F tickets by then (I upgraded my seats, basically). I think F2F went live early June, so I'm thinking late March, early April for this year.

I’m thinking a few more weeks to give TM the chance to sell off some more premiums before the market becomes flooded with face value seats. But being that the tour starts 5/4, I’m thinking it has to open up at some point before the end of March. What I’ll be interested to see is whether TM opens up F2F for all of the shows at once, or initially only opens it up for the shows on leg 1.

Don't think they'll be switching them on for certain venues at all (London, Berlin, Barcelona) Others, where tickets are scarce, probably mid April onwards

No chance at that. Ticketmaster and PJ basically assured people to be able to sell them if they can't make it.

dumb question but F2F is not a different site than regular Ticketbastard tickets is it?  Just someone can upload them and they show at the regular Ticketbastard page?

In 2022 it was like a month before the tour.  In 2023 it was like a week after ticket sales - with only 9 shows for the whole year they had no issue selling tickets.  I think this one will be early April about a month early only because some of the shows have tickets that need to be sold.

I'm more curious if they open it for the whole tour or NA Leg 1 only.

Here's a Fan 2 Fan question for the vets. So I am looking at Bleachers tickets in Philly. I missed teh presale but it looks like Bleachers were using a face value ticket exchange where fans can resell for face value. It says clearly that tickets are non transferable and mobile only. Iff you visit the ticketmaster site there is a drop down filter for the exchange but there are no seats available. However, I see tickets available on Stubhub and SeatGeek for like 2x face value. Have people found a way around this system and are reselling on the secondary sites, or are people who buy on Stubhub etc going to get screwed? I would think SeatGeek and these other sites would definitely not want that to happen, so how are these listings posted? I know lots of times there are postings for seats that are not yet in hand, but in this case if all the tickets are non transferable, how would this work?

Speculative tickets for sure. A lot of time people post tix that don't even exist. Worst case scenario, they just refund the buyer and they just don't have tickets.

But to your second point, there is a way to get around tix being non transferable. People have already figured that out.

We’ll always provide the opportunity to transfer/resell tickets whenever we can, but these options aren’t available for every event. It’s possible that they may be available nearer the event date, but this isn’t something that we can guarantee. Thanks!"

Strange that ( At least me) we are not seeing lots of advertising for the shows.... Ive seen very little movement on the available seats for CA shows. I think we will see the F2F turn on as soon as Monday, the availability of tickets creates the buzz and gets people looking at tickets. Some will just give up and buy premiums or limited view seats. I could also see only the first leg get turned on or it could be show by show starting with Van, PDX, SAC... . then a week later LV, LV, LA, LA...etc.. I would not be surprised if there are some efforts to discourage upgraders that buy too many seats in one show to move up/. Could be the tax is not added so each transaction will cost 15 per ticket extra

The level of deception by TM is so extensive and complex that it’s hard to describe to casual fans. Was talking with some concert-going parents this week (in their 40’s) and all believed platinum involved special access beyond a regular ticket for PJ. It was excruciating hear them say things like “those must be some pretty awesome tickets then” (assuming that by paying $600+ for Vancouver, they’d get VIP perks, etc). I found myself struggling to concisely explain they were just regular tickets labelled differently by TM (and that they will drop to face when don’t sell at those prices - or perhaps even below face if they start to compete via-a-vis fan-to-fan).

The thing I miss most about the old days is transparency in the “primary” market. I miss those colour/price coded seating charts so much! Remember when we knew the prices before the onsale?  …and they didn’t skyrocket in real time 2 minutes into the general onsale?

I feel like even most bands and their management don’t understand all of the subtleties.

All to say, please open fan-to-fan asap!

I enjoy watching large chunks of seats pop-up for $600-$900+, sit there for a couple days. Then a single seat will disappear right in the middle, or a pair right next to the aisle seat. I can't believe anyone would not buy the aisle pair. It's all fake demand. I won't bother complaining about how these "premium seats" are what used to be 10C seats.

It is saying on the Vancouver tickets that they won't be available until 2 days before each show.... Does that mean we won't be able to sell via F2F until 2 days before the show?!?! Would they really do that to us???
