I'll give it a few spins and then patiently wait for the proper album release
The mystery surrounding Watt's involvement has my curiosity on high alert. I'm gonna crank up the new single to eleven for a few spins to try and gauge the temperature of the album and then put it on the shelf until the rest of the songs arrive.

I'd rather have a new album and no tour than no album and a tour.
Live is where its at with these guys, for me. But I want them to stay happy and creative for themselves, so I guess I have to choose both. (I know, that's not really making a choice). I'm excited for the new music, and as @PJNB said, "really hoping this album delivers the goods". Then I will have the single on repeat until the album drops. I really didn't get into Gigaton at all until I heard it Live (different emphasis of instrumentation). Now there's several cuts I REALLY like. Hoping to love some cuts right out of the box.

You don’t want them to make new music? 🤷🏼♂️
Not really. I’m good with what they have. It’s already hard enough to hear certain songs at a show. Now it will be almost impossible.

They did one of those tours last September
Kind of. It was still a bit Gigaton focused. They referred to Austin 2 as the end of the Gigaton tour during that show.

To each his or her own, to be sure. But your approach suggests you are not interested in what the band has to say anymore, which is your prerogative but also surprising since you belong to their fan club.

I’m always interested in what they have to say. I actually like Ed’s stories and speeches at shows. I'm just more interested in hearing their older material live and every new album makes it harder to get that.

So are the people that don't like/complain about new music off of new albums the same ones that complain about Evenflo and Jeremy and go to the bathroom when they are played? Are they only happy with middle career songs?
Are the ones that don't like/complain about new songs off of new albums the same ones that complained about Binaural and Riot Act songs in 2000 and 2003? (there were many people that complained/did not like the "new stuff" back then.as well. Maybe even more so.) If so, are they the same ones that now go ape sh!t if they play a Riot Act or Binaural song they have been "chasing"?
