    Gaslight Anthem - Friday
    Lana Del Rey - Sat
    EV - Sunday
If that's true I'm gonna save a ton of money .. and Ed on Saturday
lol. EV on Saturday? I figure he play a Sunday to bring everything together and close it out
He's only NOT played solo on Saturday 2 x...the first Fest in 2016 and last year as Amanda Reckonwith.
So you’re saying it’s Eddie without the earthlings on Saturday? 😀
    Earthlings? Why would they again?

Have no desire to spend 10k to see the Strokes and 90 minutes of Eddie
10k? Is that in yen? Or are you including $7000 airfare? What costs so much at Ohana?! 😱

It was pretty cool last year when they released the teaser clip and we were guessing the artists. Hope they do the same this year.

There's no way in my humble opinion after attending every Ohana.. that this festival is worth spending $10k... must be nice to have disposable income like that

Not sure why 10K for a vacation is a big deal. Ohana was/could be part of the vacation. I'm not driving to St. Paul to see a festival. Plane tickets/hotel/rental car/food for a couple plus add on the concert tickets

Guess you're in a different world. That's a huge chunk of income for me... maybe not for you
  • UPS driver. It's a lot but manageable. Only live once and would rather spend it when I can enjoy it

You must buy VIP and stay at the Monarch

Maybe they stay right in Dana Point. Looks like you can easily spend $5000+ on 4 nights hotel that way. If you stay 15 to 20 minutes away, it looks like there's decent hotels available for under $200 a night.

We spent $7000 for a week long California vacation for 4-5 people, including Sequoia National Forest and Disneyland, and that seemed like a lot. $10000 for two people for a festival seems unfathomable to me. I've never been to a festival before, so I really have no idea what to expect though.

I have stayed in Dana Point. Hotels used to be ok and now are $300 night if you're lucky enough to book ahead. If you wait you'll pay $700+ a night or go VRBO and is less. My comment is only that it must be nice to be about to spend $10k on vacation for 2..I just don't think this festival is worth $10k trip. VIP tix to Ohana are not worth the price difference and most of the VIP folks end up in the regular GA cause you can see better. It's such a small festival space.
This current economy has hit some of us harder than others I'm aware.

Can you break that down for me? I've never been to a festival before, so I'm not sure what to expect. We just barely did a week long vacation in central and southern California, so based on that and doing a little price checking, I was thinking:
    Airfare: $300 x 2
Hotel, 4 nights: $900 (about 10 miles away in Laguna Hills)
    Car rental: $400
    Tickets: $600 x 2
    Total: $3000 + food
I know festival food prices can be excessive, and I hear you need a parking pass or pay for shuttle.
