It's different. I don't know about you... but, I like the change.
I've seen Pearl Jam as a band a bunch of times. I have only seen Ed playing solo 3 times... and with a little band behind him 3 times. Those solo shows don't pop up as often, so I try to snag as many within striking distance as I can. I'm looking forward to this week... these shows are much more intimate than the big arena rock shows. sort of like ed, playing guitar in your living room.
and I hoping for a full band West Coast swing in the future... as long as it does not collide with the Radiohead gigs.

This thread is so biased. If you've never gone to an EV solo show, how do you know a PJ show is better?? I know it's all a matter of personal opinion and what you like, but if you haven't gone to the solo venue, you truly can't make a judgement. It's kinda like the guy who drives a Porshe his whole life and says Corvettes suck, when in fact he's never driven a Corvette!

if they ever release boots or a DVD from last night's Berkeley (II) show, I am thinking there will be some converts to the EV over PJ side ... it was so flippin' fantastic.
