if the ED shows were closer to me i would of def checked them out but i truly didn't wan't to travel that far to see him alone but from all accounts the shows have been great but i allways would choose a pj show over just about anything else ..
The uniqueness of it really made it for me ....a chance to sit that close we had row 5 five seats and to see him in a theater setting was very special. Fuck we were so close I could actually understand what he was saying!

Yesterday they released tickets at the Berkeley show on TM and at the venue. Just keep checking TM and get to the venue early. I think this has been happening every night.
I know... but as I'm on the plane for 11 hours on the day and not arriving to the venue before 4pm probably.... so fingers crossed there's still some knocking around...or people I know there grab one for me
oh well, I knew how bloody crazy it was to go blind.. made my bed, got to lie in it
I';m sure it'll make the shows all the more enjoyable!
If I had the choice, I would go to the EV solo shows.
I have seen a ton of PJ shows, but never an EV solo show, so the choice is easy for me.
Agreed. Don't get me wrong, im glad we are getting both (and very grateful that i'm going to both!), but if i could have only had the choice to go to one show this summer, i would recommed seeing just Ed...such an amazing, intimate, possibly once in a lifetime experience.

what do you do for a living (not how much salary)? you go to full tours at a time and now traveling to some solo shows on the west coast on a limb. damn girl, living the life!

that's called temping...when I had enough, or need a holiday/tour/etc, I quit, get a new job when I come back.
(though for those LA shows, I'm only taking 1 day off, back to work on Tuesday straight from the airport!).
not so good moneywise.. but it's only money: work to live, not life of work! (helps I don't have anyone to be responsible for but myself of course..and I live in a country that has 4 weeks statutory leave ).
After just going to 2 solo shows and upteen Pearl Jam shows, both have their highlights. To see Eddie in a small venue and feel like you are actually there hanging out with him is unreal. Then again seeing the whole band at the Gorge just a few rows back and sweating like a pig in 120 degree heat for nearly 3 hours is unreal too. Both are great, you can't pick just one.

awesome. i was able to do the same thing sort of during the summers because i'm still a student so i have 3 months off. it allowed me to go to europe last summer to catch some amazing shows. im actually pretty sure i met you in munich last june at the hostel bar. you guys were all good people.
I have only the most passing of interest in Ed solo. I mean if I went to a show, I'm sure I'd enjoy it and it'd be special in it's own way, but there's zero chance of me ever picking Ed solo over a PJ gig.

Wombats was epic! so much so we went back for Oktoberfest and as that was even more epic we're going back in greater numbers this year!
I probably don't remeber you though if it's teh only place we met..bit hazy..

Really? strange, I would have thought Ed's solo material was right up your street!
but talking of PJ shows..coming to any in June? if you're missing some tickets, we might have them..
If we must find the answer of A vs B ... I think the answer can be seen within the Ed shows themselves .... while we all love Ed's solo work, and it sounded so beautiful last night, and the covers are GREAT (Springsteen's Growin' Up was my fave) .... the place goes mental for the PJ tunes.
This court rules in the favor of ... PJ.

yeah wombats was awesome. definitely the best hostel we stayed at the whole time. when i make it back to europe i'm staying there again for sure.
ED solo tour was an Experience in it's self.....
Kind of nice to see ED sing something else or new if you will.
Dont get me wrong I love seeing the whole band but ED is amazon by him
self and for me this is something I will remember for a long time.

If that is the standard, then we won't know until they play a Vedder solo song at a PJ show. If the crowd goes even more nuts, then...

BOTH GOOD with something each different to offer. I really liked Ed's intimate setting and to be honest....probably liked it more that the PJ show I went to in 05....but thats just me

I've seen both and, without a doubt, PJ shows are better. Every PJ show I've been to has been a 9 or 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Last night in Berkeley, Ed's show was a 7. Still great, but not transcendent like every PJ show I've been to.
Mind you I have only seen PJ once and granted it was the best fucking concert I have ever been to, there was just something special that first night in Vancouver. Something, after reflecting, that I felt very lucky to be a part of.

While completely different - EV solo exceed all expecations. I'm kicking myself now for only seeing 2 shows. It was beyond words. For me its close - very close.

Where is the poll? Anyway, I'd rather the band no doubt..
