They only had one show before Manchester and he couldn't sing!
Yeah, but they didn't cancel. ;)

Btw, sorry about your trip. Hope you're making the best of it regardless.
Thanks. Still having an epic trip. Saw Green Day on Saturday and Taylor Swift last night. In Berlin now but I'm going to head back to London later in the week for AC/DC and the Killers. Possibly Amsterdam on Friday for another round of TS. Then hopefully two PJ shows in Barcelona to close it out!

how are the lawn seats for those that have attended a show there?
As we walked thru it on the way to our seats this weekend, I literally said, "You couldn't pay me to sit in this madhouse."

I'm guessing there will be less interaction with people on the rail in the hopes to avoid contracting any illness.
I'm a bit skeptical of that explanation. It's not like he was out there for hours.

When we were there last year to see Smashing Pumpkins / Interpol the night before the canceled PJ show, my husband and I looked at each other and said no effing way would we ever do lawn. That said, we are getting older, and can't handle that sh*t anymore.

As am I. We know that there was covid floating around the band. We know that Ed's voice was strained in Manchester. We don't know what caused that. But, we do know that they are taking it seriously and postponing / cancelling shows. I just want them all to be healthy.

Live Nation oversells the lawn by offering season passes. They never know how many with passes will show up. The venue used to keep people out of the walkways between lawn sections. There is no clearing those walkways anymore. They are packed with people.

Looks like the lawn tickets aren’t really there. My daughter just tried to buy them and an error comes up.

I'll be down again with another bottle of Pearl Jam wine to share. A collection of us popped a bottle last year around the fire pit at the Embassy Suites. I'm at the Holiday Inn this time around but still have a sealed bottle or two down in the basement.
Unfortunately I was unable to join you last year, but would love to partake in a glass this time around! I'll be at the ES again. I assume it will be a "post show" wine uncorking?

That would be fantastic! I'll be down on Sunday afternoon so if others are down on Sunday we could even do a Sunday evening uncorking AND a post show uncorking.
Who all is planning to be in town on Sunday? I was originally coming in on Monday but may try to Sunday..

Saw DMB there years back and it was slammed.. just recently went with friends to Maroon 5 and it wasn't bad at all. With PJ I imagine it will be packed but they have big screens up to see the show. If you can get any ticket I would get it

to be fair, the pumpkins did not sell well at all last year. for PJ i am assuming they oversold, and this show is included in the lawn pass for Ruoff.

and full disclosure, I am a  "no lawn ever again" person for a sold out show

Was pretty full for the pumpkins but, yes, there was room as it wasnt a premier show..frankly, it was a pretty bad show IMO, but I had a great time with some other TClub folks!

Then i guess you wont be in the lawn! @slyhiggs may, and for them, I am sure it will be an awesome show!

I'm curious what the Pumpkins would sound like these days (but not curious enough to find a youtube video).  When you say "bad," what are we talking about?
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

We bought last minute tickets inside the pavilion and they were much better than I had expected. I would not go out of my way to see them again, but it was something to do the night we arrived in Indy.

Totally agree! Something to do the night before. They were okay.. think I was more excited to see the size of the pit than anything else! Lol

That's part of the reason we went... to check out the venue and see where our seats are. But, we are huge Interpol fans so if SP sucked that bad, we could just leave since we were mainly there to see Interpol. We did start walking out during the last song; I was surprised we stayed practically to the end. But, it gave us an idea of what to expect after PJ plays

Interpol I thought was better than SP. doesn’t seem like a bad seat to be had. A typical outdoor venue a bit confusing with the parking lots tho!

I wonder what kind of stage setup they'll have at DC? I saw them in Portland and that new screen is huge...and seems to be a better setup for an arena show (not sure it would "fit" within the stage dimensions of an amphitheater). Plus, there is already a video screen on the wall on both sides of the stage. Oh well, guess we'll find out :)

My guess is they will just use the middle section. The side sections won't fit.

That pit is going to be great. We lucked out and got pit tix from 10c

Yeah, could be the case. Use the middle section for the video collages and the two side screens in the pavilion (and three screens in the lawn) for video of the band. I actually wouldn't mind that kind of setup.
I'm super stoked! I'm in Sec A, about four rows from the pit, and close to Sec B. Was debating whether to offer a Pit/Reserved trade but having a seat allows for easier ingress/egress.

yeah those will be great seats....I usually hang out in the back of GA so hopefully we aren't too packed in

if you haven't been to that venue in awhile they have greatly improved the restrooms...no more waiting in lines
