How about a 30-40 min sit down acoustic session as an opener.. maybe a little less energy spent and they could take a 30 min break prior to main set...
I would have made a second suggestion of the national, but I want full set from them too... And they went and gave us some Texas dates, so I'm happy.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
If an opener. I'd like a local to venue talented garage /lesser known underground band. Give them a chance to rock out. In 2010 Band of Horses was great and cool when pj pulled off HS with ben. Didn't take away from that night for sure. Now with a shorter set. An opener is like a kick in the teeth.
Sorry to all the people who don't want an opener, I get it. But it just looks like that isn't going to be the case. By all means, you can plead your case but it looks like the format from here on out is openers, so the least we could do is talk about adding GOOD openers that add value to the show and may leave some fans looking for the music after the show. And comeeeee on. They are doing 2 nights in some of these cities, which will be 40+ songs on both nights, and y'all have still found a way to complain and not add to discussion.
English band Love and Rockets just got back together again this year. It would be cool to see them open the dates, although I don't think they are touring the U.S.
Another English band Kaiser Chiefs would be cool to see open for PJ. They aren't playing any shows in the US either this year, but I bet PJ could get them over here
This is total Fantasy, but someone like Santana opening the show and then jamming on the end of Rockin In The Free World at the end of PJ's show would literally blow my mind. Would Santana open for PJ? Absolutely not. But it's fun to think about....

There's no way you know that it's going to be this way from here on out.

Lmao of all the things you could have focused on or added to the conversation, that was it. No, I don't know that, but I assume based on the last 2 years of getting what we got that this is how it's continuing from here. Still got a problem with the way thats worded?
