Might be jumping the gun a bit here, but the 2023 ticket rollout has been nothing but a clusterfuck of the highest order.

Like almost Fyre Fest-levels of incompetence, confusion, and chaos.

Little bit. I am heavily leaning towards becoming a f2f ticket hunter. No need to support this debacle. Certain levels of incompetence have a cost. Would be a good time for a band member to swing by the forum and check on their business amd see the fire.

I mean, I’ve spent most of my day killing time on U2 forums helping people understand PJ/Ticketstoday’s system for the U2 Vegas fan club presales… and interested to see how that one rolls out tomorrow.

I’m going to reserve judgement on this process once the dust settles. Only major downside so far has been the buildup and anticipation of lottery results was far less fun than in the past. Once the rejection emails go out, then that’s a different story…

Awww…. This isn’t “fyre festival” level of incompetence. How can some else complain about confusion when they made a whole thread about tour dates based on zero solid information. How many hotels did you book in Columbus and Philadelphia?

I get that it's a lottery, and my chances are slim, but time after time, I am shut out while reading about others who have 2+ shows, and get shows for most tours. I'm to the point where I don't even think it's worth attempting anymore, and that just.... Sucks.

1 each, and they were refundable. Because I'm not an idiot.

Oh, and that was a speculation thread. Not rumors. Y'know, where people chimed in to share where they wanted to see the band.

I had a feeling my seats were better than my number deserved (St Paul N1, Sec 105, Row 12).

Not to sound like a martyr, but I really am OK with any seat as long as I am in the building and that appears to be the case. I have seen this band from a variety of spots including upper deck in Oakland in 2022 (had to go through Verified). So at this point, I'm good being in the building and getting to enjoy not only PJ but also the festivities surrounding the shows.

    Good luck everyone!

    What’s the problem?
  • know1know1 Posts: 6,794
I don't know why they made the change to have the priority be the show, whereas the priority used to be the seat choice (GA or Reserved) at the show.

Previously, if you wanted a shot a GA for a show in City X, you had to use a full priority choice for that selection. And then another priority choice for reserved seats if you wanted those. I think that's where it all went wrong.

I also was not in favor of doing it that way either and it was what I thought immediately when I saw how it worked this time. A lot of people are only satisfied with GA and this time around they automatically lumped in to receive Reserved. For those of us who just want to be in the building and typically select Reserved, we were now thrown into a much bigger pool of people for those seats.

I don't feel like a sucker in the slightest.  I feel that 10C's ticketing process was a complete fucking debacle with zero transparency or clarity on what changes they implemented this year.  I (along with most of us) did exactly as we should have.  Broken system.

Yup. I guess the suckered part was about myself/us having faith in said system.

I don't feel like a sucker about the lottery draw. I read the information provided and made my choices. Apparently they had a mistake/glitch.

I feel more like a sucker that I've maintained an uninterrupted member number for 20 years and have watched my seats get farther and farther from the stage (not specifically referring to this time).

I also felt like a sucker for keeping my ticket for those years during Covid (and letting someone have my money all that time) and then tickets weren't reassigned for all the people who got refunds. They just sold the refunded seats to other people. My seats should have moved up one place for every refunded ticket BEFORE they re-sold the empties.

Yep that pretty much sums it up.  They either changed the way the lottery works and priority doesn't mean shit or they completely fucked up the way they distributed tickets.  Oh yeah, and they fucked up seats based on seniority.....that's the main reason a lot of people are even in the 10c!  The incompetence is impressive.

I don't feel like a sucker in the slightest.  I feel that 10C's ticketing process was a complete fucking debacle with zero transparency or clarity on what changes they implemented this year.  I (along with most of us) did exactly as we should have.  Broken system.
Yep that pretty much sums it up.  They either changed the way the lottery works and priority doesn't mean shit or they completely fucked up the way they distributed tickets.  Oh yeah, and they fucked up seats based on seniority.....that's the main reason a lot of people are even in the 10c!  The incompetence is impressive.
right, they basically got rid of every advantage of being in ten club other than getting fan club tickets.......

    now, that is messed up

The whole situation sucks but I am glad someone admitted/found there was a problem and they are fixing it.  My boy @darwinstheory might have gotten a divorce over this.

Not married (again) yet! But in any event, do you @mcgruff10 have an extra room available?

I know there is awareness to the problem but I'm not sure it is entirely being fixed. I'm reading it as though just those that were already awarded tickets are being reallocated tickets. For anyone who hasn't heard a word, things aren't looking good.

I hope I'm wrong. After reading everything before the drawings, I woke up Monday morning confident that almost everyone was going to get tickets for the shows they selected. It seemed 10C was talking up having a shit ton of tickets. I was looking forward to a brew with you in StP 2.

Just out of curiosity- have you ever been suspended from posting on the forum?  Question is for anyone who hasn’t received tickets.
