I’m really hoping the 2 rumored dates in Las Vegas are happening. The wife and I have decided we want to go to Vegas…bring the announcements!
2005 - London
2009 - Toronto
2010 - Buffalo
2011 - Toronto 1&2
2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
2014 - Cincinnati, St. Louis, Detroit

So, the consensus is that there will be some ballpark shows, right? What are people's thoughts on the recent trend of shorter shows with a stripped-down five songs to start. Do they continue that trend, or do they try to do something bigger for those shows?
Great question. A 30+ song set would be a great feature of a ballpark show to offset the ballparkness.
I don’t believe the 30+ is ever coming back. It was clearly not a popular decision with the fanbase, and as soon as they play even one long one again the questions start back up. I think it’s gone for good. if they wanted to prove me wrong though I have a Indy ticket and we’re thinking about Philly
Yah, that was always going to be the impact of going to the 3 hour+ barn burners at every show, at some point (most likely due to age) they would have to dial it back at some point.
I'm glad we got that era, I really enjoyed the shows I saw in '13, '16 and '18. I'm a little bummed it's most likely over, but I understand not everyone in the band ages at the same pace, so they need to do to insure all 5 to 7 members can keep touring (I'd rather they play 2 to 2.5 hour shows, then no shows, it's still an amazing couple of hours).
tbh i prefer the 2 night stands with vastly different setlists. More room for actual flexibility
Having only 1 repeat between 2 shows in Austin was fabulous
I remember reading stuff afterwards where people where kvetching that the encore on night two was so “hits” heavy, “boring” they said - but honestly, I loved it. Getting to the end of the main set and realizing how many big songs they hadn’t played yet over the two days, and therefore knowing what we were probably in for… it was magic. The crowd loved every single second. And so did I.

I hope you have a magical time with PJ in the city of sin!
.... and hope you had a nice Florida trip without seasonal illness bothering you too much!
Thanks for the well wishes. We ended up having a great time in Florida. Just sucked from mid week on weather wise. High winds, temp in the 60's, couldn't really walk on beach or you would get sand blasted. Ended up staying an extra day due to weather when we were suppose to take off. Gave my wife and I piece of mind without all the anxiety of flights being delayed. We had a great day and night at the Tikik bar that day under the rain and monsoon winds it seemed

Just a side note next to the sports. After everything had already pointed to the Waldbühne Berlin, the Mercedes Benz Arena is now also blocked by another artist on the rumored date.
Τhere was never a debate or wonder whats the venue in berlin
I apologize profusely for my impertinent post. I will stop this in the future.
Texas having 9 more shows than PA shocks me too. Since I started following in 2008 or so, I swear PA got like 20 shows and Texas got like 3 lol
They must have played Texas a lot back in the day

I guess a NH-DE-WV-MS-AK tour would be logistically tough to pull off.
In one swing, sure, but given that they've seemed to do split tours between coasts, NH-DE-WV-MS on one tour wouldn't be impossible, and then play Alaska before heading down to Vancouver, Seattle, and points south. They'll never play NH, though. Same probably goes for Delaware. No point with bigger venues nearby.

With Fenway and the way they construct their tours now, you are probably right, however a lot of large acts hit Gilford NH these days.
I bet if Gilford was a big deal in like 2000, 2003 or 2006 they probably would have hit it.

I have a hunch that Dave Matthews has friends in the Lakes Region, which is why he comes through here every summer. Need to hook Eddie up with some people up there.

Really the only spot they could play DE is The Woodlands where Firefly fest was held and where Phish are playing this summer.
There was a rumor years ago they were going to headline Firefly Fest right after PJ20 and Dogfish, who sponsored Firefly, came out with the Faithful Ale for PJ20. Obviously that never happened though.

Well, the point in this theoretical scenario would be to play those states for the sake of playing those states. How many bands do you think have played in all 50 states? I was going to say that, if my band had played in 45 states, I'd do what it takes to get to 50, but I've been to 47 states and have not made any effort to get to the last three and I don't need to bring a road crew with me. (My 47th state was Wisconsin for PJ20. The three I have yet to get to are Iowa and the Dakotas.)
