Everything is a projection and it would seem that POOTWH and his cultists forget that the internet and its way back machine exist. I’m starting to believe the truth of the rumour of “73.”

After suspending his campaign, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed to run for president in Kentucky

    By: McKenna Horsley - August 27, 2024 10:25 am

Former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gives remarks at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel on Aug. 23, 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona. Despite suspending his presidential campaign last week, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will appear on Kentucky ballots, according to Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams.

Adams said in a Monday night post on X, formerly Twitter, that Kennedy, a third-party candidate, filed to run for president in Kentucky around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

“Having just completed review of his submission of signatures, we are placing him on the ballot,” Adams wrote.

Kennedy appeared on the secretary of state’s candidate filings website, along with running mate, Nicole Shanahan.

Kennedy announced Friday that he was suspending his campaign and threw his support behind former Republican President Donald Trump in the 2024 election. He added that he is not terminating his campaign and planned to “remain on the ballot in most states.” Kennedy planned to remove his name from about 10 battleground states, but did not say which ones.

At the time, Kennedy said he “cannot, in good conscience, ask my staff and volunteers to keep working their long hours, or ask my donors to keep giving when I cannot honestly tell them that I have a real path to the White House.”

Kennedy withdrew from Arizona and Texas, but it might be too late for him to withdraw from some states, such as Nevada and Wisconsin.

Kentucky has become a predictable red state in recent presidential elections. Trump won the state’s eight electoral votes in 2016 and 2020.

Some polling suggests that Kennedy’s endorsement of Trump will have minimal effect on the election between Trump and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

Kennedy, an environmental lawyer and anti-vaccine activist, is part of the country’s most recognizable families in Democratic politics. He is the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy.

After suspending his campaign, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed to run for president in Kentucky

Kennedy.

weird. i had read that he was pulling himself off the ballot in swing states where him being on the ballot can hurt trump. he must think kentucky is a safe state for trump.

if i were trump i would be pretty mad though. i would publicly call him out and be like "you endorsed me. why are you still asking to be on the ballot in certain states?"

    A New Low

Trump disrespects a shrine to American heroes

    Aug 28, 2024

It takes a lot to really rile me. Silly stuff like selling $60 autographed Bibles or shilling $99 digital trading cards of himself are at the core of Donald Trump’s huckster persona.

But then there’s another Trump, one who has zero respect for the institutions that make this country what it is, and that is especially true of the United States military.

Trump has a long record of disrespecting those who have served, using disparaging terms. But those were just words.

On Monday, he crossed a line.

Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery, among the most solemn and sacred places in the United States. It’s where 400,000 members of the armed services are buried, along with many of their spouses and dependents. It’s also the final resting place for two presidents and scores of war heroes.

Trump started with what should have been a somber and respectful wreath laying. It was not. It was a campaign stunt. The wreaths were for the 13 service members who died in a suicide bombing three years ago as American troops were withdrawing from Afghanistan. Trump has tried to make the “chaotic withdrawal” — his words — of troops and civilians and the ensuing casualties a campaign issue, blaming President Biden and Vice President Harris. He has referred to it as “the most embarrassing moment” in American history.

Using a visit to Arlington National Cemetery for political gain is horrific enough, but it gets worse. After the wreath laying, Trump moved on to the graves of two of the 13 who died. According to National Public Radio, Trump staffers were told by an Army official they could not shoot campaign video or photographs at the grave site because it was against federal law. The official tried to prevent them from doing so. He was then verbally abused and shoved out of the way by Trump staffers, according to NPR.

Once the way had been cleared, Trump smiled wide and gave one of his gratuitous thumbs up while a photographer snapped away … among the graves of Americans who gave their lives for their country.

The photo soon made its way onto social media, just as Trump had hoped. My reaction was the same as many others who have personally witnessed Americans dying on the battlefield. I was sickened.

In a statement, Arlington National Cemetery officials said, “Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign. Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants.” An official report has been filed. I won’t be holding my breath for anything to come of that.

Trump’s campaign has responded by saying their photographer was “permitted on the premises” and that the Arlington official was “clearly suffering from a mental health episode.” The campaign has failed to release promised footage of the incident exonerating the staffers.

Trump’s latest leaves me angry and appalled, that he would denigrate this solemn place for a photo op. How can this man be put back in charge of the country’s military when he clearly doesn’t respect them or what they do?

Remember that Trump got out of serving in Vietnam because of “bone spurs.” He has called American fighting men and women who paid the ultimate price “suckers and losers.” He has ridiculed prisoners of war, like the late Senator John McCain. “He’s not a war hero, he’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured, okay?” Trump said during the 2016 campaign.

Despite its apparent illegality, there will likely be no legal repercussions for this callous act of disrespect. But could there be an even bigger consequence? Losing the election.

How a Trump visit sparked turmoil at America’s most sacred cemetery
By Isaac Arnsdorf, Josh Dawsey and Dan Lamothe
    August 28, 2024 at 19:04 ET
Earlier this month, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign contacted military officials about visiting Arlington National Cemetery to mark the third anniversary of the Islamic State bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members during the evacuation from Afghanistan.
Federal law prohibits election-related activities at military cemeteries, and Arlington is the most prestigious and sacred of all. Pentagon officials were deeply concerned about the former president turning the visit into a campaign stop, but they also didn’t want to block him from coming, according to Defense Department officials and internal messages reviewed by The Washington Post.
Officials said they wanted to respect the wishes of grieving family members who wanted Trump there, but at the same time were wary of Trump’s record of politicizing the military. So they laid out ground rules they hoped would wall off politics from the final resting place of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.
Instead, they got sucked into exactly the kind of crisis they were hoping to avoid.
A cemetery employee tried to enforce the rules as provided to her by blocking Trump’s team from bringing cameras to the graves of U.S. service members killed in recent years, according to a senior defense official and another person briefed on the incident. A larger male campaign aide insisted the camera was allowed and pushed past the cemetery employee, leaving her shocked.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded to the first report of the altercation, from NPR on Tuesday, by accusing, without evidence, the employee of “suffering from a mental health episode.” Defense officials said that the employee was trying to do her job and that the claim of a mental health episode was false. On Wednesday Cheung said the employee “initiated physical contact that was unwarranted and unnecessary.”
Cheung also said the campaign would release footage to support his claim but has not. The campaign did, however, post a TikTok of the event on Wednesday — exactly what military officials tried to prevent. The use of the footage marked a flagrant violation of the law against partisan actions at military cemeteries, defense officials said.
The visit comes as Trump struggles to regain his footing in a race altered by Vice President Kamala Harris’s replacement of President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket. He often portrays himself as a champion of the military, but Democrats point to his public and private remarks denigrating service members.
