I don't think they can at all. Something like 60 or 70% of Republicans are more Trump-fans than supporters of the party. They will listen to anything Trump says and will turn harshly on anyone who opposed the Orange man-baby.
I'm sure they are all secretly hoping that the judicial system or nature/cardiac system takes its course and they can continue to harness that energized base.
They just keep trying to wait this out, but the cancer on their party has metastasized. He is not going to hand his supporters over to desantis, ramamamamaswammy, or whoever. He is going to keep them, and I would guess that his kids will carry the torch when all the fast food and being sedentary has its way with him
