Start erasing history little by little this administration believes that the Constitution is outdated except for the 2A otherwise I can see them trying to rewrite parts of it! Heck they’re trampling it at record pace as it is
Whether they have it on the website or not, doesn't change it or the fact that it exists and they are already trying to circumvent it. Let's focus on the real issues instead of dramatic social media posts meant to rile people up over the minutia.
It seems hard for some to understand that biden never would have had to take the extraordinary steps he took if it weren’t for the threats of the incoming administration. It’s absurd to blame someone from using the power they have to protect people from harassment at the highest level that could literally ruin their lives. He literally called many traitors to their country who should be executed. But, please, do go on about dem hypocrisy.
Justifications are for someone trying to defend unprecedented behavior. Biden’s actions are in no way illegal like Trump's were, and also, still hypocritical after dems whined when they thought Trump was going to preemptively pardon people during his term. He didn't and faced prosecution, albeit unsuccessful in some cases due to outside factors.
The misinformation in this comment is quite honestly, disgusting.
Biden's pardons of the January 6th committee is in no way shape or form preemptive.
These people were specifically threatened multiple times by a man who used language like "the enemy within"
Congratulations to you for empowering the Maga movement by entrusting their misinformation.
The current president has put recent violent criminals on the street.
There is no comparison to any pardon action ever taken by a Democratic president
Misinformation? So the pardons aren't preemptive? Go ahead and enlighten me then about my disgusting comment. Unless you want to wordsmith preemptive in this case to hypotheticals that may have occurred so then it would be true, but either way, still preemptive.
I'm not comparing the actions of Trump to Biden. Trump is a pile of shit who has freed violent offenders who tried to overthrow the capitol and Biden still doesn't get a pass just because he didn't do anything overtly as terrible. If all of these people truly think Trump is the end of democracy, then why did they just do the whole dog and pony show yesterday? This peaceful transfer of power narrative is all smoke and mirrors BS. Trump didn't show up 4 years ago and pretend he was a decent person because he's not, but yesterday, the peaceful transition of power was not as it seems. This is a power grab by a conman and his minions who are bankrolled by tech billionaires. That's what is disgusting, not me still having the audacity to challenge Biden's excess use of power to preemptively pardon family he claims is innocent. Both things can be wrong and still not be equal in scope and breadth.
If we want democracy to stand, then it should be allowed to play out through the processes set-up, but if we are so disparaged that those processes are corrupted, then none of this will matter anyway and is just stalling the inevitable end result.
The processes have been corrupted. Took 40 years but they’ve done it. ‘Murica is a broken shell of it’s former self.
And get ready for the media response of “Biden made controversial pardons, too”
Well, he did. I mean everyone is just acting like Biden has no choice, when he does. For all the talk of Trump doing this at the end of his first term, it's Biden who did it and dems who initially pursued charges against Trump. All he did is provide all the MAGA supporters confirmation bias in advance. Whatever, dems keep crying wolf and shoiting themselves in the foot. Meanwhile they continue to slip in severally historically toss up states. Florida and Ohio have fallen out of reach and it won't be long before PA, MI and WI will be the same. Maybe it will swing back with the right candidate, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
In January 2005, did you see a black Democrat winning Indiana in 2008? In January 2013, did you see the star of TV's The Apprentice winning the presidency in 2016? Predicting the future is a sucker's game, especially with an electorate that has not given more than 53.1 percent to any presidential candidate in 40 years. And that 53-percenter was sixteen years ago.
With respect to "crying wolf," Trump actually did try to steal the election. He's on tape asking the Georgia Secretary of State to "find" the exact number of votes he needed to win the state. He signed off on submitting fake slates of electors in multiple states. He actually took those confidential documents and then continually obstructed the government's efforts to retrieve them. Just because a bunch of unethical, amoral fellow travelers in his party decided that the rule of law doesn't apply to him, it doesn't change the fact that he committed multiple crimes. Any objective person should be able to see this.
I agree with what you're saying. It's just ridiculous that so many voted for the worst person possible and can't see their hypocrisy. And also, while there is no comparison to the things Trump has done, and will do, that doesn't mean Dems get a pass just because some piece of shit gets away with being a con man. It's just FUBAR.
They don't get a pass, but I don't pretend that Biden's pardons, which I think were the wrong thing to do, are equivalent to Trump's crimes.
And any argument about equivalency with respect to pardons specifically is out the window now that Trump has pardoned a bunch of violent people who attacked the Capitol, including those who assaulted police officers.
My brother is former NYPD and there had never been a shooting of an unarmed black person by police where he didn't argue that no one can judge an officer because no one knows exactly what the officer was feeling and seeing in the moment they made the decision to pull the trigger. This same brother complained to me two weeks ago that the problem in this country is that no one is held accountable for their actions anymore, citing his belief that Black Lives Matter protesters were not punished for their acts of disorder and violence after the death of George Floyd. When I mentioned that this was an odd complaint to hear from a Trump voter in light of Trump's promise to pardon the January 6 convicts who assaulted police officers, he went into a rant about how the guy who shot Ashli Babbitt was a bad cop and everybody knows it. I realized he's so far down the rabbit hole that he's a lost cause. I can only imagine what my brother would have felt was justified if a BLM protester was climbing through a smashed window as part of a mob breaching the Capitol. It's a disgrace.
I keep it cordial with the MAGA faction of my family meaning I just talk text my brother about the care of our father that’s it nothing else, my brother in law I don’t communicate with at all I don’t need too I just talk to my sister if I need anything but again it’s just about the care of our father.
I have the same relationship with my BIL. Things changed four years ago when trump lost. My BIL and SIL had come over for one of my daughter's graduation parties and I called him out for saying stupid shit. Ever since then he hasn't been the same. We're still friendly when we see each other but he does everything he can to get away from us as soon as he can.
That's fine with me. I've got enough stupid in my life just processing GOP bullshit. I don't need a dumbass magat polluting my brain.
Agreed!
This is the BIL that told me that Obama only got elected "because of all the ni**ers".
The same BIL that got laid off from his factory job in OH and then semi-retired because he couldn't find decent work and then about four years ago got another decent factory job that he still holds now. But yeah democrats have been real bad for him.
