    Fair price for a Benny or vault reissue pressing.

    Not so much on a vinyl I already own just to get a new color. Hats off to the serious collector

    I can think of two reasons. Inner groove distortion can reduce the sound quality towards the center of a record (particularly with a rotating tonearm rather than a moving one) meaning they would avoid using the part of the record closer to the center, or 45RPM pressings can't fit as many tracks per side. @Santos L. Halper - any idea whether this is going to be pressed at 45RPM? The few records I have pressed that way stand out as the ones that sound the best.

     =)  This is the right way to do it… but this one is an easy pass for me. 

    I was suckered into buying the 2016 reissue when I already have an original (or 2). I don’t need any more copies, no matter how great this record is or how good it looks.
    I don’t care about the “look” as much the audio quality. Pressed on 2 LPs with care, this should sound better than the other pressings.
    I have some other VMP presses and they sound amazing. But I'm personally tiring of 2 LP releases. They can sound better, but having to get up to flip the record so often is getting annoying for me. Especially for albums like The Who's Tommy. Even the newer versions are Side A/D and B/C. I usually stick to the cd for that one.

    I added it to my basket to see what it would come to - it was $82 including postage to Australia from 10C.

    This is why it is pre-order, so they can figure out the demand before pressing it. Maybe they won't press anymore after that, or maybe a small number but that might be it.

    ^^ agree. Buy it if you want it, or hang on for regular release to save on shipping. It’s not an exclusive.

    I ordered one of the Vaults from the BREXIT shop with a couple of Pearl Jam fans from my area, to save on shipping and customs.


    My problem with this is not the price - it is if it's an odd one off, or if the whole catalouge will get this treatment. If the whole catalog will be rereleased I might FOMO myself into having something new to collect (I have collected all the KISS 1978 solo albums, the Nightmare on Elm Street soundtracks, and is on my way to all in a series of Astrid Lindgren children books on vinyl so could be in the market for something new to collect)... but if it a one off and just Yield like that purple Walmart Ten, eh.

    Unfortunately I know very few people outside of the internet that are both Pearl Jam fans and vinyl collectors.
