I really need a good way to store these.  I know that there have been some posts about potential storage options but it would be great to find a way to both store and protect my vault collection.
Cue Brighton Mooney (or whatever that dudes name is....) The dude who made heavy duty poly sleeves for so many ten clubbers a few years back. He was in such high demand; I bought poly for all my PJ collection. Super awesome way to protect the wax sleeves. Lemme see what I can do here.... tracking begins.

There is the thread! @Brothermoon - are you still able to help the gang out? Found one looking to protect their vinyl.

Well its the first one released, the oldest, and potentially the least copies available due to that. But IDK. It is GREAT, Mine is open and played.

I would guess Vault 1 had the least copies available as that pre order window was up only for a few days? When Vault 3 vinyl pre order was available for many months.
If I remember right, V3 wasn’t a preorder. They just pressed and sold. No one knew it was coming. No one knew what the demand would be. I don’t remember it being up for months, but maybe it was.
But I’d still bet far fewer were ever pressed than any other. Even given the short window for V1, where everyone was expecting a vault soon, waiting for drops on the 10th, etc. people had been waiting for that one for 7 or 8 years and jumped on it.

My bad. Vault 3 vinyl was a pre order. Went up early June. The pre order ended June 24th @ 5pm PST. Not even a month.

Are they discontinuing the Vault series?  I keep seeing in the Facebook groups people saying that they are, but I haven't seen any info on that.  Anyone know for sure or not?

I guess no one knows. But I think it is strange, that they didn't highlight "vault-releases" as one of the perks of a tenclub-membership when they rearranged the membership late last year.

So, I wouldn't be supprised if the vault-releases are stopped.

    That would be a bummer.

Hopefully they start pressing up official boots if they are done.

    Bummer indeed.

They stopped the annual Christmas vinyl single. They stopped the Deep magazine.
They stopped pressing silver CD Bootleg Box Sets.
They stopping the Vault vinyl experience?

As long as they don't quit touring I'll be good.  I have all the Vaults, I should probably get something to play them on at some point lol

I’ve only kept my membership the last few years just for the vault releases, there is literally no other benefit. I lived in Australia and they have stopped playing there and now I live in Ireland and they don’t play here. The membership would just be a donating money to them if the vaults were stopped.

It was a preorder then for like a day you could buy more if you wanted.  They relived the 1 per order mandate.

I also wondered if going back to press 1 & 2 was a sign of the series ending

Would also confirm that they really didn't have that much vaulted from before the live bootleg era.

    Oh I remember. I bought a 2nd one. :)
  • I thought I remember reading on here somewhere a while back about Jeff working on future vault releases?  Not sure where folks are thinking the series is done.

Yah I assumed they took a break from new ones to put 1 and 2 on vinyl, because we asked them to put 1 and 2 on vinyl.  We still need 11 to make it complete, then hopefully they pick up from there :)   It'd be nice to get something unreleased in the not too distant future.  Could use something new to listen too :)

Didn’t they say they are not so interested to look to the past and that’s why they stopped the deluxe editions for their old albums?

anyway, I still think to they would highlight vault-releases as one of the perks of a 10c-membership, if they were certain to continue. Maybe they go the Bruce-Route and release old shows only as downloads and CDs. We’ll see.

I recall something like this as well.  Maybe it was on SiriusXM station. Talking about all sorts of old shows being worked on.

I think if we don't get an announcement by March/April, we can assume its dead.

    Man, would that ever suck!
  • If you have music in the vaults, release it.  Clean it up as best you can.

The Dead are still releasing stuff.  PJ surely can too.  Hell, Hire me and I'll delve into it all and have a quarterly album out w limited items.

Oh man I would have fun doing that.

Eddie also says they'll be back again soon most shows

If you buy from the UK store there is no need to be a member. US store is linked to accounts I think. I do seem to recall that one of the Vaults even on 10c was not even exclusive to 10c members. This was pre UK store and pre pressing plant backlogs. I think it was right at the end of a preorder they opened it to anyone and you could also buy multiple. They must have had an order amount they were hoping to reach.

Just did two separate deals to add 1, 4, and 6 to my collection. That should leave 3, 5, 7, and 9 left to complete the set. Wish I'd been a 10C member all along to get these as they were released.

Keep checking the 10club store for random vinyl drops for 5, 7 & 9 down the road. Doubt they will drop any Vault 3 vinyl. Many years back they put up a few Vault vinyl releases in the shop.

Will do, thanks. I don't mind paying some above retail but a lot of these I see on eBay are more than I feel comfortable spending. Maybe I'll get lucky here.

Some times you can negotiate on Discogs but just be careful not to get burned. I acquired a few on there that were reasonable.

Buy from Discogs fans who have accounts created over 2+ years.

Also check the Lost Dogs section here for sales.
