  • A documentary on PJ merch lines would be interesting,  is Cameron Crowe available?

I’ll never understand the appeal of standing in merch lines for hours when you could be out enjoying a cool city with friends. To each their own.

I don’t see any more posters being sold at the merch stand near Portal 23.

This. Why do you think posters are on ebay for 200 or 300 dollars the same day. Im sure 75% of the people in line are not attending the concert tonight.
I don't understand why grown men would pay 200 or 300 dollars for a poster.
I guarantee there is something equally trivial you spend $200 on

For the flippers, has their even been a show this year that’s poster isn’t available in the shop right now? These aren’t the 1500 only made runs of back in the day. Plenty of posters available, none worth more than $45

That's my plan to get the posters of the shows I went to this year.

Ton of non-poster merch on eBay right now from last few shows.  People are getting a pretty nice markup on it.  Hard to justify waiting multiple hours in early merch line at MSG last weekend just for poster.  But, if you're early enough to get poster, show-specific shirt, show-specific hat, sticker, and license plat to flip you can cover decent portion of your ticket, transportation, and lodging depending how you're doing the tour.  Add in the 2 per person limits instead of 1 and probably justifies the long wait for a few people even more.

If they went to a 1 per person policy for the show-specific stuff (ie posters, certain shirts, stickers, license plates, etc) that would go a long way to curb the current merch madness with the inflated prices lately.

None of the second NA leg is on there yet. It might be too early, but maybe if they've all sold out at the current shows they won't be on the shop later? I went to Phoenix on the first leg and posters didn't sell out at the show. They certainly have at the last few. That said, all of the other shows are still in the shop. If similar for this leg, should be able to get them at some point.

But I’m sure he doesn’t spend 6 hours in the heat to spend that $200.  It’s not the purchase that is crazy it’s the time spent to make the purchase in not always ideal weather

Had there not been a ball game your time would have been more exciting in the merch line. What a ghost town of a city. Unbelievable really.

Are others allowed to provide food & drink to those on merch line, or is that illegal?

Ok, we get it. No need to pile on. Tim Simmons' comment was funny though

Merch line actually used to be relatively fun if you had cool people around you and were only waiting for a couple hours (2013-2014 tours).  Hang out and talk about past shows, music, etc.

The current 5-6 hour waits are too much, especially when you are standing in the sun and heat.  I may be getting old but I would not have much left in the tank for the show after that wait.

Waited 3-3.5 hours in both Hamilton and Toronto (got in line around 11am, were done in time to see more of the city), and passed the time chatting with fellow fans around us. Fortunately, in both lines we also had plenty of shade (actually got a little chilly in Hamilton). We had good times in both lines. Now, when we got in line both times, we could see that we weren't far from the front. Not sure we'd have bothered if the lines were twice as long. The point is, it is still possible to have fun experiences in the merch line.
