Still hard to swallow that the show is almost over
135 minutes in QC. There is no short set problem. The ridiculous 35 song sets are over because MC and EV are too old to do that at full quality, and have been for 10 years. The quality has been better after the pandemic. They are more focused.
I don’t know how many times it has to get repeated over and over … nobody is asking for 35 … but all 10 shows I’ve been to since 2010 were 30 or more and we can’t even get 25 this year
Yes, I know that. But it didn't become 23 songs because they are lazy and went to 90 min shows. They made a conscious decision to focus, slow down the tempo, and put on the highest quality show possible. The days of appeasing the setlist box checkers are over, and they never sounded better for it. They literally got their groove back.
But these 22 song sets are not better or more focused the the old 30 song sets.  We are losing an average of 7-10 songs and gaining nothing in return.  It’s not going to stop me from going to shows but I’m tired of people pretending it’s not a huge change l.
They are better. Much better. The 2 shows saw in the last year are better than my 8 previous, and there is no competition until getting back to Philly Spectrum and Bonnaroo1. That's pre 2010. Matt learned how to drum in PJ during the pandemic and they sound like a new fucking band. Better than ever. 135 minutes in QC and it was only 22 songs because of the tempo and focus on quality.
We’re not going to agree on this .  58 year old Matt Cameron didn’t finally learn how to play drums for PJ in his 24th year with the band
    Agreed... Ridiculous

Most fun I've had at a show, might not the best...buts it's damn fine.  Ed is hurtimg, back or leg.
Ed is hurt?? 🫢 Oh God I sincerely hope not cause I'm seeing them in Hamilton on Tues. 🙏
We kinda blew right past this here. All okay?
On the live feed they said he was limping during evenflow and seemed gone longer than usual and that Josh did some ankle motion to another guy he was talking to about ed.. I definitely could tell Ed was hurting some as he was hobbling around a bit
  • 150 minute show tonight. Anyone saying that isnt enough music needs to get a grip. Thr 23 song count is because Matt is playing a new tempo on the old stuff, and it sounds way better. Either way, 2.5 hours of music is more than enough.

Great show! How long have they been playing tuned down an octave (pardon if that’s not the right term, I’m not a musician).

He was def hurting, I was near stage entrance and first noticed when he came back up after Mike's Even Flow solo he really limped up the stairs. And wasn't moving much throughout rest of show, guitar and mic stand as a cane almost 😅 couple times.

In my completely medically uneducated opinion, a middle aged man pulled something.  Been there! I wouldn't read/worry too much into it.

A few notes from the show:
    1) 7 O clock was significantly shortened compared to studio version (in a good way)
    2) Ed was definitely limping after the Mike even flow solo, was completely fine before that.  I noticed it immediately too.  Wonder if something happened behind the scenes.
    3) Immortality is one of the best songs they play in 2022
    4) Of all the songs to choose from for this 60 song rotation they have had this year, why did one of them have to be wishlist?  Oh how I wish it would disappear

    Great show tonight overall

It was a great show. Hard to believe that a person complaining about tonight was in the building. Band was great, crowd was great and a great set list.

Was it just me, or did it sound like maybe they were pumping noise into the crowd at times?  I swear there was a non-natural cheering noise coming from the speakers at times

If no one else heard it then forget I said anything and my ears just suck

These seated openers are prepping us for the 9/11 show. Possibly an entire acoustic set as the entire energy will be way off for an entire city and nation

I think MSG will be almost identical to the format of every other show we have seen this year, unfortunately.  Anyone who expects otherwise will likely be disappointed.

Agree, but I'm ok with it. Of course I miss the three hour Evenings With, but these shows are fun. The energy tonight was incredible.
