From previous sales, also with tickets, etc....I wish there was a way to limit the amount of product that can be placed into carts at a time.  For example...if there were 200 of these, then only allow 200 (or even 100) to be placed in a cart at one time, until all sales are final.  Rather than add 1000 into carts, and then only allow 200 to check out.  Otherwise it really comes down to internet speed throughout the whole process.

    And possibly bots.

Can someone give a reminder about the dates of the bootleg releases so I set a marker on my calendar to hawkishly watch the forums and shop around those dates for posters?

Frustrated by these artist drops... Never used to have a problem catching them and now 0/2.

    Thanks.

Just had a st. Louis in my cart and sold out before I could pay for it. Not happy.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
  • If anyone has an extra poster from Louisville they'd be willing to trade for a Nashville please message me. Thanks!

The whole poster/merch thing has become a complete joke. 6 hour line in Nashville, 5 hour line in STL. I let go of needing more stuff years ago but I really liked both of these posters but didn’t even bother checking into getting one once I heard about the lines. My buddy I went with to both shows did really want both posters though and was a bit bummed. It just seems like something should be better here for the show specific shirts and posters.

Tonight's poster is cool. Love the show sticker / shirt design.

Never experienced the "check out line" before when trying to buy a poster. Sucks!

If this was your product would you change the way it’s being sold? Of course not. You’re in the business of selling stuff. The lines are a huge win for them.

It had been 4 years for me between shows before Camden, NJ. Never ceases to amaze me the length of the lines. I was in the GA line and didn't have room to carry crap so I'm buying on the bay if I get shut out here.

Something has to be done to fix the merch problem.  Having the outside stands open over an hour late doesn't help either. I waited outside for 5 hrs & 45 minutes at Nashville.  To say it was a shit show is an understatement.

I don’t know what to tell you and the others that waited for over 5 hours for a t shirt. Even if the merch opened on time you would have still been in line for a t shirt for over 4 hours. The problem will not go away because the problem is the people willing to wait in line, not the other way around. There is no problem for the band selling the merch. They are doing exactly what they intel’s to do. They are selling merch.

They always have poster stock reserved inside for doors. If you rush doors you will get a poster. Don’t bother with outside merch, it’s a distraction. Unless you really want the show specific shirt.

Second tip: once you rush doors, never go to the first merch stand you see. Go up up up to the nosebleed section as fast as you can. They have stock and less crowds. Good luck.

Been a mess since PJ20/Wrigley 13 or so. At least thats when i stopped doing the lines anyway.

I went down to Wrigley 13 at like noon or something looked at the line and decided to get some and drinks instead.  I know people enjoy it it so good for them but I can't imagine doing it again.  I am pretty patient and will wait out anything I would want until it drops in price, not sure why anyone buys anything the days after a concert, especially posters since there is the AP drop( I scored today hope others here did as well) and usually a drop in PJs shop.

Bringing back poster pre-orders would be a big win for fans and the band.  I understand that there is a cost to pack the posters but they could charge a premium to cover that cost.

there is probably a reason they did away with poster preorders

If I had to choose, I think I would rather risk spending $50 and getting a "bad" poster than wait 5 hours and possibly come up empty handed

I did the same thing at Wrigley 13.  I do now wish that I had the Cracker jack poster but there is no way it would have been worth waiting in that line in that heat for that long.
  • Shame for those that waited in line 6 hours in nashville.  What a cool town as we enjoyed our time bar hopping around rather sweating our rears off in line to grab some merch. Maybe a flipper who posts on here can answer this, poster cost $45, you in turn sell on ebay for $200, is your life/job that needy where u need to profit 155 minus ebay fees by waiting in line 6 hours to stiff other pearl jams fans?

It's not just for the poster.  If flipper getting show-specific shirt, hat, sticker, pin, license plate, then profit margin goes way up for time waiting in line.  With a 2 per person limit on these items can make even more.
Just looking at stuff from MSG. conservative sales prices on eBay (before fees) last few days ~$180 poster, ~$130 shirt, ~$170 hat, $140 license plate, ~$40 sticker/pin set.  I'm not a flipper, but when you add it all up someone near front of the outdoor early merch line can really cash in

  • In Nashville, I looked at my son and put the question to him. Wait in line or not? He chose not to wait. We did some sightseeing plus TMR tour. So, I resigned myself to not waiting and possibly missing out on the Klausen poster. We lined up at 5:30 on a side entrance. Got in right at 6, and scored a poster! I repeated this at St. Louis and was able to get what I needed. I may be done with the merch lines! 5 hours is too much.

While the city specific shirts are cool, in 2016, I really wanted the Tampa shirt. Didn't get it. Kept looking around online for the next few weeks after the show, and never saw any that were reasonably priced. After 2 months, I didn't care anymore. I had my fun at the actual event. In 2022, I really don't care anymore. Its just a t-shirt. Think about other events you have been to, and not got a souvenir. Does that really affect your happiness now?
  • JojoRiceJojoRice Posts: 4,268
The reason I waited nearly 6 hours in line in Nashville is because I didn't want to pay the ridiculous ebay prices and I didn't want to hold merch during the show either.  At one of the LA shows back in May I waited and bought merch inside the venue. Was able to get everything I wanted.  Then during the show there was 2 different people sitting around me that spilled their drinks and my stuff was almost ruined. It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario.
