Nice! I saw them in Birmingham that tour as a sixth grader. For a three year stretch my parents took my sis and me to one show per year:

    '84 Lionel Richie/Tina Turner
    '85 Hall & Oates
    '86 Stevie Wonder

Good times and, thanks to my folks, a solid entry into the world of live music. My memory of the chronology has always been fuzzy until I did a web search thanks to the OP's thread. Thanks, BLux!

Also in '86 my dad took me to the most memorable show from my early years --> Van Halen w/ Sammy Hagar newly behind the wheel.

I still have my ticket stubs. The Rush show was a whopping $9.00. Even I could afford that with my meager allowance my parents gave me.

I worked at my dad's shoe factory for $3.10 per hour to feed my concert habit when I was 15!

The Monkees 20th Anniversary tour, 1986, at the local community college. Monkees, Herman's Hermits, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, Grass Roots. This was when MTV randomly started running old Monkees episodes and me and my middle school friends got super into them. Fun show!

I was there. The arena in the mall.  First show, the Rolling Stones, 1981, Hartford Civic Center. The only reason I got to go was because it was the Stones. Remember it like it was yesterday and still a top ten show.  The Stones are responsible for my 40 year concert habit.

Oh man, I wish I'd seen the original group with Henry Vestine, or even the earlier days after Harvey Mandel came on board.  By the time I say them, the only guys left from the early days were Fito and The Mole.  Fun to see, but not the same!

That was a good start for you. Did you know of them before Beds are Burning? Always curious if people knew their early & best work before the big hit

I don't think many folks in the US heard of them until MTV started playing Beds Are Burning.
