For some, this band can do no wrong, and any who dare criticize will be crucified.
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.0 -
Complain, don't complain, whatever. It's a message board, do your thing.
48 hours ago people were elated at the variety in the set, today they play a festival set at a festival and it's "Well looks like the end."
Kinda silly, to me.
There's a difference between passion (bordering on obsession) and entitlement. All that "I spent thousands planning trips, if these are the setlists..." stuff is like, okay? Sell your tickets and see if you can get refunds for your hotel/flights/whatever, then? It's pretty easy to get that stuff refunded in most cases. You chose to spend the money, if you don't like the setlists, choose to get it refunded.
"I don't know if I'll travel to see the band anymore..." Okay! If that happens and the shows get smaller I imagine they'll adjust and play venues that make sense for their draw in whatever market. Pretty tough to say with any certainty what ANYTHING will be like trying to extrapolate from data during a tour that was held over two years for a global pandemic in an industry that was pretty much dormant during those two years.
Who knows why the sets or shorter. Whatever the reason, it's probably not to spite the fans. In fact, rather than "the beginning of the end," it may be the band's attempt to preserve and prolong their lives and careers. You don't know! You have no idea! None of us do!
"It's the lack of variety that's the problem..." it wasn't the problem in Frankfurt when you were losing your mind in the setlist thread wishing you'd been there. Maybe dial back the recency bias and just see how the rest of this year plays out, and make your plans from there.

Lost In Ohio said:dottles said:I believe that the band don’t allow the festivals to stream their sets, not even on the highlights tv packages.Werchter is a difficult festival, exposed site, signal not always great and there are thunder storms in the area tonight (we aren’t that far away and it is pretty bad here)
I know when I used to run the setlist threads it was a difficult one. Though in my case it was pretty amazing as I’m now in a relationship with a10C member who relayed Werchter when I ran the thread ☺️
There was that London show (I'm thinking 2012) which was on TV.
Wasn't that a festival?0 -
And Hyde park had songs on tv. Sky arts maybe?

Jeez. I was coming here to enjoy the afterglow with people who love Pearl Jam just as much as me.
All this negativity lol you guys act like spoilt children.
I had the time of my life last night at the show!!! Great to see the boys again after such a long time!! Can't wait to see them again in Amsterdam/Prague.
Hope all the grumpy people stay home then0 -

Not seeing a problem with this setlist, esp for a festival. I'm guessing 99% of the audience were stoked to hear the bands most popular songs. Except for never liking Jeromy this would be a fine show to see. (Of course I pretty sick of most of the Ten songs, but understand why they get played and they usually rock them out). That being said, being more than a casual fan and if I was traveling for this tour, I'd have arrange my shows for non festival stops and hit the last 4 of the tour. All in arenas and last 2 in the same city. These are going to be awesome and I'm sure will have a lot of variety, esp Amsterdam. Oakland had about 12 different songs between the 2 shows, maybe a few more.10/1/94, 6/22/95, 6/24/95, 9/16/96, 7/22/98, 10/21/01, 6/1/03, 10/25/03, 10/26/03, 9/1/05, 7/15/06, 7/18/06, 8/28/09, 10/07/09, 10/3/12, 11/26/13, 6/18/18, 8/10/18, 5/12/22, 5/13/22, 5/13/24, 5/25/240
