Well he just fired the people who produce the jobs numbers for the fed because numbers are being manipulated (not showing what he wants it to show). So that's cool.

And PBS is shutting down…which is huge politically because the Dems lost their main way to reach rural America. Forget about screaming from the rooftops about these two blatant attempts to rig elections…we got the  Epstein drama to try to change votes.
Not talking about Epstein will definitely bring back PBS funding.

Between the two options, educating voters on the value of PBS is more likely to be an effective strategy for restoring funding. Advocating for a specific position on a controversial topic like Jeffrey Epstein's case would be seen as partisan and could further endanger federal funding, which is intended to be non-partisan.

So what you just said is the main reason it got shut down.  To reach Dems.  But problem is PBS wasn't about democrats... Who the hell in the rural America watched PBS and became a democrat?  I don't get it.

Also, isn’t standing up for things like PBS and NPR how Dems get labeled as too Academic and Elitist?

And I’m not saying they aren’t important or shouldn’t be fought for (they very much should!), but if the solution is make sound passionate arguments why this stuff it’s important, shouldn't that carry over to basically anything Dems advocate for?

But also, you are coming at this as if the party in power is a rational, reasonable body and it absolutely is NOT.

Like, they know most of these immigrants are the heart and soul of labor in this country, moving industries that power this country, or that Tariffs further burden the consumer, or that vaccines save lives and they they look at the facts around those issues in the face and think they are “facts” and say, nah.

I think the best part about you is you're a contrarian for contrarians sake.

Have you not paid attention to the GOP and their party media for the last 40 years.  Everything they don't like especially the public good is Marxist and meant to radicalize the kids.

Soooo, clean water, schools(i can see the angle), PBS, roads are all marxist?  So basically anything that expands your knowledge, a road to a new place to learn new things, a school that teaches history, PBS an arts channel, clean water to help you grow is all marxist?

If this is the way of thinking from the GOP then they are doing a great job of keeping people dumbed down...

Yes. Keeping as many people underfoot and limiting those who can climb the ladder is exactly what the GOP wants.

You’d think MAHA would be pushing back on this in cabinet meetings.

All of those things cut into profits and curb capitalism.  The "Chicago School" theories that have dominated right wing thought since the 70s basically state that only when there are no guardrails on capitalism will it truly solve all the problems of society.  Anything however well meaning that comes between this ultimate end goal is seen as extreme, radical ,Marxist.
Look what we did to latin America in the 70s and 80s in the name of pure capitalism. Torture, death squads, lowered wages, coups etc. all to help reach the capitalist utopia.  In all cases after US capital and military intervention the citizens of said countries were worse off.

Basically it is all a fairy tale designed to whip up support from the ignorant and let those at the top exploit everyone and everything.  Look up Milton Friedman and what his disasterous policies did to South America.  That's exactly what the GOP is looking to do here.

Great read on the Trump Economy

    https://prospect.org/economy/2025-08-28-judge-actually-existing-trump-economy/?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Trump in theory vs practice&utm_campaign=Daily Prospect 08-28-2025

...ultimately the problem with Trump’s version of state-run capitalism, even if you agree with the idea behind individual actions. It’s all being done in such a shortsighted way, or for the purposes of punishing enemies and rewarding friends, that there’s no way to disaggregate the salutary policy in theory with the cock-up in practice.

On this upcoming Labor Day, let us remember how truly tough - and deadly - the work place used to be. We owe these men and women a debt of gratitude, as we do today's American workers, as well.
