Totally misconstrued what Dimon said, out of context.  I read this interview yesterday because I think Jamie Dimon is the smartest guy in business and he is more left than right, but tries to be politically agnostic.  His point was, if a little tariff is inflationary, but good for national security, that might be a good tradeoff.  But it's happening so businesses needs to "get over it" and prepare.  He was talking about business leaders, not "people".
Exactly why I’ll never read any of those “tweets”. They’re mostly taken out of context with one goal
in mind…. To rile everyone up and hate the other side more.

Inflationary may not be related to tariffs in many instances. Eggs, a basic staple, and connected to a ton of other products, prices are rising fast. Harris and Biden were terrible at the inflation argument.

The issue with the first trump term was that he was asleep at the wheel. While arguing his election conspiracies Non stop, the supply chain broke, and the inflation crisis of 2021 was born. Harris didn’t even attempt to pin inflation on trump. Democrats are lost beyond lost.

this is history repeating itself. Trump controls the narrative, focus on tariffs, as an American net export product is set to push up inflation. Trump and our now missing gop friends will find out about this in a few months, when it’s too late to stop the impact on this causing inflation throughout the grocery store. Where you at shecky and choccolotide?

    ..

    from axios,

Egg prices are climbing to new record highs daily, Karyn Rispoli, managing editor for eggs in the Americas for price-reporting service Expana, tells Axios.

    • A dozen large eggs in the Southeast and South Central "will be north of $7," while Midwest eggs are $6.95, Rispoli said Tuesday.
    • Brian Moscogiuri, a global trade strategist at Eggs Unlimited, an egg supplier based in Irvine, California, told Axios that the "transactional values of eggs are as high as we've ever seen them."
    • "Some of the retailers are short because their suppliers have been directly impacted and their replacement cost is extremely high right now because there's not much egg to be had in the market," he said.

Jamie Dimon isn't talking about eggs in this discussion though.  I'm not arguing that eggs aren't on the rise, but I'm not aware of us importing eggs in large numbers.  I think it's just a small fraction compared to what we produce.

Thank god my eggs are produced in my own backyard. Going to be hard to grow the flock this year with Avian flu around though. Down to just a dozen.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Wasn’t looking to be contentious, just that the egg story is being ignored by the media now as they focus on tariffs. Eggs do have a surprising impact on food prices, and ya know the high grocery costs won him the election because when it suited him, food prices were everything and tariffs were almost ignored by voters during the campaign.

Eggs, flour, milk, butter, vegetable oil, sugar all have a down market impact on prices like gas at the pump. Gas goes up it impacts other sectors of the economy. Price of basic raw commodities/ingredients goes up, cost of groceries/dining out/ fast food goes up. But hey, just stop buying gas or eggs, that’ll show em.

    THANKS A LOT TRUMP!

Let’s flag @shecky and @Choccoloccotide because I miss them because they are so concerned about fixing the economy. Great start fella!
I think they are more concerned about more important issues like calling a body of water something other than what it's been referred to for centuries. You know, the real issues, affecting REAL AMERICANS.

I see, understood.  Didn't think of it as contentious, but I wasn't making the connection you just articulated.
But hey, just stop buying gas or eggs, that’ll show em.

less gasoline more like diesel fuel. vitrtually nothing doesnt come off a big truck.

That's odd, eggs here are $2.99/dozen.  Am I supposed to thank Trump?  How much are eggs normally?  I don't purchase eggs myself, but I can send you some, Juggler, if you would like?  Why is the price of eggs such a hot topic?
