I have a Hamilton pair I will be posting tomorrow.  Section 225 Row 16 Seats 1&2.  Not the best, but in the building.  If anyone wants to try and coordinate a time, let me know.

The fan to fan ticket exchange is a joke.  If you cant personally choose you who sell it too it’s not really fan to fan but fan to someone who happens to click on the site at the right time.  The only two entities helped by this fan to fan stuff is Ticketmaster and the band.  Bring back the stub hub option. At least consumers had more options that way.  Options for those without tickets to these shows are more limited than ever before

IF you could pick who the tickets go to, then you ask for cash/items above and beyond face value.   I think fan2fan works well in this regards, because you can't select who they go to, and ergo can't demand a premium.

How does fan2fan help ticketmaster?  If they resell themselves they make a bunch of extra money on ticket fees.  They don't charge additional fees on fan2fan, so they don't make anything extra for it?

I dunno.  I liked it better than scalpers.   If your going to charge below market for your tickets, restricting how much they can sell for it makes sense.

I happen to like this system. First of all, it's called Face Value Exchange, which is exactly what it is. It just ensures that all tickets are resold at face value. As stated above, if you could choose who you sell to, there's no way to control whether they're sold above face.  And as much as I hate TM, they don't make any extra money off these sales. They do charge an extra  $3 (approx) per pair resold multiple times, but that's just to offset credit card transaction fees. And the FVE gives everyone a fair chance to get the seats they want. If you're willing to put in the time and effort, you'll get exactly what you want for every show you want. If you're expecting an easy handout, maybe it's not for you.
Although, I will concede that the one drawback of the FVE is the inability to resell for below face.

There isn’t a perfect system.  I see the arguments both pro and anti Stubhub and free transfer.

Fan 2 Fan significantly cuts back on scalping, no doubt about that.  This method favors those willing and able to put in hours on end refreshing the page waiting for seats to drop, who wouldn’t be able to afford stubhub otherwise.

Free transfer has its downfalls with prices, but like you said, if you have the means to pay for a ticket, you’ll never be shut out of a show completely.  With that being said, if you do have the means, why not just buy the platinum seats?  These are readily available for purchase for almost every PJ show.

Either way, some folks aren’t going to be happy.  I personally think the Fan 2 Fan works well.  Also, there has been a high success rate with transferring tickets with “timed drops” with another Fan, so the option to transfer to someone else directly it still there, but it just with a low amount of risk.

I think you make great points here about the exchange, except for every show. Camden, MSG and the sixty million in this region wishing for a local arena tour with options would beg to differ.

Disagree. It also helps … the fans? By ensuring tickets can’t be resold above face it helps prevent brokers scooping up a bunch and selling at a profit. This way is 100 percent better than paying an obscene amount on stubhub. And if you’re into that sort of thing there’s usually a few premiums there for a gross amount ha
