Might be a dumb question simply because it might be impossible to know, but are the NA shows close to sold out you think? I know the plague has changed everything, but I would be interesting to see the true percentage of tickets sold.

Aside from the Premium seats at some venues, they are definitely all sold out aside from behind stage 200s and any holds that get released on the show date. Just F2F tickets exchanging hands at this point.

Not necessarily.  For many concerts in 2022 batches of tickets have magically become available in the days leading up to a show.  Some people have suggested TM is misleading people into thinking a show is sold out to entice premium purchases.  I would never accuse them of such a thing.

Yeah I’m 2016 when PJ played two nights at MSG it was “sold out” then I waited at the box office day of show for like 7-8 hours was about 20th in line and ended up getting two lower bowl seats. So could happen again

I've always been under the assumption that tickets released day-of-show tend to be holds for insiders of the band and the venue that were not originally conceived as seats that are for sale. That said, the idea of Ticketmaster holding back tickets to artificially drive demand is definitely not a far fetched one at all.

I think folks counting on the box office strategy this year for MSG are going to have a bad time personally. Last time there were two shows. Last time there had just been a set of shows in Philadelphia. So demand is substantially higher for tix. And then nobody here seems to have any clarity on how to access the box office with all of the construction currently happening in the area, in addition to the fact that nobody has provided any firsthand insight on what modifications might have been made to releasing any held back tickets as a result of the pandemic. Maybe they have and I've missed it.

Refreshing Ticketmaster all day sounds like a better option to me. But wishing folks the best of luck with whatever strategy they choose to employ on the day of that particular show.

Yeah the whole construction thing and the fact it’s the only northeast show could cause a massive failure unfortunately. I was thinking myself how on earth the box office works now with all the construction

Sounds like the main foyer is also out of the question for outdoor merch?

This is the correct answer. While it isn't far fetched for the cartel at TM/StubHub/LiveNation create artificial demand, tickets that become available day of or day prior are tickets that have been released from "holds" for the artist/promoter/venue. In some cases there are even a handful of seats that become available once set up has taken place and it becomes clear that some additional seating can be put in.

    Update 09/05/22
    • Page 1 updated, not much difference. Hyper-vigilance & friends watching out for tickets is key! Hottest F2F gets: Hamilton, Toronto, Camden (lawn!), and Nashville.
    • The Hammer! CAD $154 face, F2F is seeing a LOT of traffic. It was a tough get over the last month, but great singles & pairs coming & going on the F2F market at face value. Here's the Premium breakdown:
    • - August 22nd - $750 ($864), $850 ($980) & $1,200 ($1,381)
    • - September 5th - $395 ($457), $495 ($572) & $950 ($1,094) <---- patience. pays. off.
    • Just like the rest, the most expensive tickets are F2F Premium resales. The remaining unsold PJ Premiums fell in price. These will drop to Standard by day of show, if no one buys them. Ottawa/Kanata set a pretty high bar, so let's see what you've got, Hamilton!
