Any other Strip adjacent good restaurants locals would recommend?  Will probably be walking everywhere and we are going to be at the Mandalay Bay.  Thanks

Hoping that the Golden Knights make it to the second round and somehow have a playoff home game on the 18th,19th or 21st. I might even hit up that EDC festival if they sell single days on the 21st. I have never been to something as crazy as that and might be fun to check out.

Anything else anyone local would suggest aside from the touristy stuff that is widely known or easily searchable?
EDC releases single day tickets closer to the event. If you are decide to check it out, let me know. It's about a 30 minute taxi/uber ride from the strip all the way out to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I know it's not the type of music most people on this forum like, but it's an incredible experience to at least check out.
    Awesome thanks for the insight!

I am not joking when I say I think the OYO is closer to the MGM Grand Garden than the MGM.

The steakhouse in the OYO/Hooter's/San Remo has/had a $9.99 prime rib that is actually killer. Big prime rib, vegetables, potato, and bread. Not sure if they still have it or if it is off menu. My father still talks about it.

Between EDC, PJ, and Preakness Stakes - Vegas is gonna be hoppin' that weekend.
Gonna wait a week or two for flights and see if prices come down.
Most resorts are super inflated, got a good deal through MLife and it wound up cheaper to stay at Bellagio than MGM Grand or any of the Ceasar's properties (except for RIO which is hot trash).

FYI - I will have 1 extra either way (either a primo 10c reserved or a GA). Face and you make a beer run during the show at a time of my choosing.
If it's GA, I will make beer runs during Evenflow, Betterman, I Am Mine, and Elderly Woman and I will buy the beer.
Evenflow is my official piss and a beer song. Probably can only help him with the beer. If I see them setting up for Last Kiss, earplugs, piss, and beer.

also good to look at Hotwire for their hot rate hotels. You don't know the hotel until you book, but you know the price and you can search via parameters (location, 4 star, 3 star, amenities) and they tell you straight up before you book that it will be one of four hotels.

you really can't go wrong with any of the hotels on the strip TBH, everything is fairly easy to walk and get to,

I did this with Tropicana Double Tree by Hilton. You find the hotel with the hidden hot rate that you want and scroll down till you find its name at regular price with the same number of reviews and rating.
  • Put in for Vegas with the updated tour and kept all my others (Phoenix, Nashville, OKC, Denver). I got them, so pretty excited. My wife and I had been going on annual Vegas trips before COVID and haven't been back since, so it will be nice to go again. Especially for a PJ show. We're staying at the Aria.

One thing is, I can't remember specifying general admission or reserved. I prefer reserved, Just not a GA guy, but having tickets it doesn't really matter. Is there a way to find out what they are? Doesn't matter tons and I will know for sure soon enough, just curious.

Yep! and honestly you can find the hotel you are booking by reverse engineering the amenities and stuff.

Fun fact: I'll be at the Trop Wednesday night (May 18th) since it has a big oversize parking lot for our RV. If anyone gets into town Tuesday or Wednesday and wants to kick it, let me know. We head out to the speedway thursday morning 9 AM sharp

I see more than one airport. I’m staying at the Luxor on the strip. What’s the best/most convenient airport to fly into?

Confirmed for Vegas!!! Booked on Southwest last week just in case ;) Flying in Thurs night leaving Sun morning.  Cannot wait!!! But man the flights and hotels are brutal. Way higher than I exepcted.
Yeah making Vegas plans were not the easiest.

If you are flying into Vegas on Spirit or Frontier the day of, BEWARE and have a backup plan. Spirit and Frontier merged and a lot of their flights are being cancelled/changed. If you have points on Southwest book a backup flight just in case the others cancel/change. You can always cancel the Southwest flight and get all your points back if you dont use it.

As far as rooms, MGM Grand is going to be high now that Pearl Jam has been announced (plus its Preakness Stakes weekend). Try Luxor, New York-New York, Park MGM, and Excalibur (last choice). Off the strip there are some places on Tropicana Blvd not too far from MGM Grand that will be cheaper and a quick lyft ride away.
This is NO JOKE. Frontier just cancelled my Vegas flight this morning.

In!  Using this method, it looks like we got reserved.  I am a little bummed (teeny-tiny) but my 5'3" wife will be stoked!   Oh well just happy to be in the building!

This is the hotel I 99% of the time stay at. They treat me well and have for many many years. It's more south than many like, but fits the bill for what I'm usually in town for (something at this end of the strip). If anything else, quick uber/lyft ride away.

Also, Harry Reid is a recent name change, if memory serves me. McCarren is the old name (and what many still use).

not sure I'm following this exactly. Do you think the Hot Rate 3.5-star hotel in the South Strip - Tropicana Ave area is the Double Tree?

Dont mind the price as I did not have the right dates in but this is what I mean by matching them up.

Booked the Park MGM through Hotels.com.  Not cheap but have stayed there before, is close to the arena and my wife loves Eataly.  So...you know...expensive weekend.
