Pearl Jam full band acoustic tour? I'll take Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder solo against Pearl Jam plugged in? Right now I'll take Eddie solo.

I wouldn't mind seeing EV solo, but SYNERGY baby - this band as a whole just F"N kicks major a$$!

I've had my fill of having my face melted off with "Pearl Jam" era tunes for two years now. Now, if they were supporting a new album, I'll be for the rawk, but lets change it up a bit and do a acoustic tour.

    that is pure insanity ..

i mean i guess ed solo is really cool.
but i love the whole band so much and nothing could top them. 08 tour was unreal.

i'd rather have them just work on this next album and get it out somewhat soon. then the whole band can do the next world tour.

    I do!

Sure I'd take the band first but I would definitely hit up 2 or 3 EV solos.

Of course most people would rather see full Pearl Jam, but small intimate EV shows is fucking awesome.

    Have you seen Ed solo?

I saw him twice and the band twice this summer. While they are both obviously very different experiences, i'd rank both as roughly equals.

I will definitely travel some to see him again this summer.
    Shows: Montreal 98, Barrie 98, Montreal 00, Montreal 03, Montreal 05, Ottawa 05, Toronto 06, Vancouver Night 1 08 (EV), Vancouver Night 2 08 (EV), MSG1 08, MSG2 08, Montreal Night 2 08 (EV), Toronto Night 1 08 (EV), Toronto 09, Hartford 11 (EV), Ottawa 11, Ottawa 16, Ottawa 22.

    ITA

I also feel as if you're comparing apples to oranges. Why not enjoy both? Along with Harrybu McCage, Flight to Mars...and hey, where are Stone & Jeff's solo projects? :)

I saw EV solo in Berkeley.. about 20 rows back.. I saw PJ at MSG and was in row 2...

I think EV solo was a more memorable evening and one I would choose again given a choice between the 2.

I'm with the thread starter on this one. Alhough I WILL get tickets if the solo shows on the east coast happen, I'd MUCH rather see the whole band.

Sometimes it seems that even amongst the PJ "hardcore", there are still alot of people who think Ed is the "be-all, end-all". Frankly, I don't get it. The band as a whole is amazing, but after listening to "Into the Wild" a bunch of times, I'm over it. I still feel that Stone has put out a much stronger effort in "Bayleaf", although I do understand that ITW wasn't really a solo album as much as a soundtrack.

Oh well. I'd much rather the band get working on the next disc, but if Ed wants to do a solo tour, so be it.

True except Eddie doesnt vary the sets much at all - I saw both this year more than once and I'd take a PJ concert any day of the week.

But beggers cant be choosers - I'll take what I can get ;)
