  • Crazy.   I saw QOTSA 3 times with him that I can remember.  Did he play PJ20 too?

    RIP

    You will be missed
  • Not my thing but I know many in this community  loved him and his music.  Sorry to learn of his passing.

Man. Everyone's going. Love his smooth deep voice. Screaming Trees were a brief but super cool part of the soundtrack of some of my coolest memories.  Thanks for that. See you someday.
  • I’m in complete disbelief.   He’s left such an incredible, timeless body of work behind.  From his solo work to the Trees, to Gutter Twins, to QOTSA, to Soulsavers, to Dark Mark, Mad Season, albums with Duke Garwood, Isobel Campbell, the UNKLE project, all the way to his guest appearance on the most recent Manic Street Preachers album.

People will be discovering and loving these albums for decades to come.   Rest In Peace, Mark.

  • Finally caught his "where I'm from" with Joseph Arthur yesterday!  So many great stories, feels unreal to hear he's gone.

RIP Mark, thanks for the music 🎵

Way too young but honestly I’m glad he kicked his habits back then and gave himself a few more decades.   The Gutter Twins were great.

That sucks. Nearly Lost You is one of my favorite songs of all time.  To me that songs epitomizes grunge.  57 is way too young. RIP Mark

Sucks.  Was watching that clip of Mark on Letterman, then started looking up other acts that he was in...I forgot he was in Mad Season for a small bit....then watched River of Deceit, thought of Layne...then some Cornell....

Jesus, put all of our guys in bubble wrap, please.

I want to visit that alternate timeline where all of these people are alive and collaborating still......

Me too, I used to listen to that song on repeat. I know Mark had a turbulent time with the Trees, but they did make some incredible music together.

I haven't been on this site for a few weeks, came straight here when I just heard this because I knew there would be many who knew just what a treasure we just lost.

So grateful I got to see him live a few times in a few of his incarnations; so sad I didn't get to see him more times or in more versions of his work.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Mark the last artist Kurt Cobain spoke publicly about how powerful an artist he was before Kurt died?  I'm crushed not to have seen him live at all in the last 20 yrs.  But way more crushed that whatever took him away, took him away.  Heartbreaking.

News like this always hurts. This one hurts a little more.

Spinning Sweet Oblivion as I type. The world just lost one hell of a lyricist, vocalist.
