Wow, first reaction is I'm kinda sick of this. Releasing a vinyl then releasing another "special" limited version to get double the money. I know I know, if you don't like it don't buy it. I won't.
Kinda feels like a test pressing. None of this stuff is limited like vinyl was in the 90s. Everyone is simply cashing in on the wax renaissance.
Or the early 2000’s Pretty sure they sold more of earthlings in an hour than copies in total of the original pressing of riot act (less than 1500 on discogs own it). People will probably pay more for this in the secondary market. I don’t get it
Disappointed I missed out, was still working to pay for stuff like this that I usually cant resist. Took a look at my phone when I finished and knew Id be too late. I will wait until the regular edition comes out here in the UK and pay half the price and get a sleeve. Not a big deal. This is the year Im cutting back on records.

I have to update my collection - maybe my first press riot act will inch it closer to 1500 lol

Probably, but it'll probably still be a fraction of the overall copies of earthling, so it'll be the rarer variant version.
That being said, I both love music, listening to vinyl, and collecting, so vinyl hits all those things for me. So I'm a sucker for color vinyl or variants, and stuff. Even though things might be worth a bit more on discogs than the regular version, it probably has no real world impact. I don't suspect I'd really ever sell my vinyl unless their was some kind of emergency.

Only a little over 600 people on Discogs own the Euro version. Great press- booklet is different size too
There are still some available as of 8 minutes ago.
I hadn’t purchased the regular vinyl, was waiting for it to come out in the local stores. Probably just wait until it goes on sale like the Flag Day soundtrack which is already half price at Newbury Comics store
Thanks for the heads up. Just got one for $19.99 at Newbury.

I just think the whole limited edition thing is lacking a certain sense of scale. If it says limited it doesn’t seem to matter what the numbers are
Limited, but not that limited
I don’t care either way I just want to play it sooner
Very happy to get a 10c exclusive pressing at last and happy I didn’t already pre-order the regular version. I’d say a record that sells out within an hour is pretty limited too. So 4,000 we reckon?
If it's about 4000 that were pressed, and it sold out in 80 minutes, that's 50 sales per minute. I guess that's enough traffic to slam the website into LOCK DOWN for a few minutes.... So the numbers equal $160,000 in revenue. Costs were maybe $15/record for the band? So about $60,000 we can assume to have this pressed and therefore $100,000 profit? I'm just geeking out here over pure boredom.

I pressed 1000 records with insert on heavy stock, heavy stock jacket and innersleave. 180g.
I did not pay that high per album. And I would imagine Sweden is more expensive than the states.
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
Really had a tough time understanding why I spent $52 on a single lp with no fucking artwork and no gatefold jacket. Then I walked into the garage and saw 8 boxes full of everything from hats and T-shirts to fucking sheep characters and dog leashes. It all suddenly made sense.
Couldn't justify buying a copy of an album that I already bought of a copy of and still haven't heard. I just want to have a copy of every album so if we coudl reissue Ukulele Songs, Lost Dogs, Live on Two Legs and Backspacer that would be cool too. But congrats if it floats your boat.

takes guts to do that before it ships as most people recycle usernames. Risking getting their order cancelled
