she does not remember coming out as bisexual on the senate floor. funny. that seems like something someone would remember doing.
also when she was in the green party she claimed no religious affiliation. she was sworn in on the constitution not the bible. yet, yesterday in her speech on the floor she was wearing a cross around her neck.
she is appealing to republicans and moderates to her right.
also, she believes she can be the great bipartisan uniter for a presidential bid. i hate to burst her bubble, but she ain't ever gonna be president.

With much more serious issues at stake, I don't place a huge amount of emphasis on fashion, but I will say I think law makers who are serious about there work are going to make an effort to look professional. That is becoming less and less a thing these days. I'm rather conservative about this issue. I think, for example, that it is very tacky to see people boarding airplanes wearing flip flops and shorts. I can't help put think, "Have some self-respect people".
But more importantly, here's the thing: like Hobbes and JLGardell said (thank you, both), this is a lawmaker who is backsliding on important issues and turning her back those who want fair voting practices. Like her tacking fashion bullshit, she is drawing attention to herself, inflating her ego, making a splash as it were. Who knows, maybe she will decide to throw in her lot with Marjorie Taylor Greene. Fine. Go suck eggs, traitor.
Ha. Would you think differently if you got on a grayhound bus from Sacramento to LA and someone was wearing shorts and flipflops? An airplane is just a bus that travels in the air instead of on a road.

I've taken the bus. No, honestly, I would never wear flip flops and shorts on a bus. I don't dress in public like I'm at the swimming pool... unless I'm at the swimming pool. Even in the 60's when I lived in San Francisco and hippies were all the rage, I never dressed like I was at the pool. Yes, my hair was half way down my back, but I dressed decently. I don't have a photo of me then but I dressed like these guys:

OK, my bad to respond.
Please, no more clothing style B.S. or Kat will slam the door on this thing (her prerogative, all due respect.)
Thanks.

to be honest, she deserves every ounce of criticism she gets. manchin too. they are representing themselves. not the people who elected them to be there.
if you are not going to be on board with the agenda, at least get the fuck out of the way and do not be am impediment.

Exactly! Sinema in particular is a person who is more interested in showing up on the cover of People Magazine or Vogue that taking her job seriously. Add to that her unprofessional posturing and I can only shake my head that she ever got elected in the first place. Hopefully not the next round.

i read a few weeks ago that her approval in AZ is under water. She will not be back after next election cycle. she is going to cash in as a lobbyist or something.

so if someone presides over the senate wearing a denim vest we can't say that it looks unprofessional? gotcha.
ok boomer
I'm sorry, I think you meant that for me, right? But seriously, when in history was appearing professionally not the norm and not appropriate? To not do so is to appear to not take one's job seriously and this is very much a time when taking governing seriously is important, is it not?

There is room on Mitch’s forehead. Maybe he can sign a lifetime sponsorship agreement with some corporation and get their logo tattooed on his forehead…oh, the possibilities.

i hope manchin wore a condom, because that is what most of us would wear when we voluntarily screw over a significant portion of the population.
LOL! Funniest/serious comment I've heard in a long time! Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw in the 70's Nixon era that said, "Don't pull a Dick in the middle of a screw/ Vote for Nixon in '72"
