Pair in Middle Balcony for Chicago Night 2 on TM is $1,100 but on StubHub similar pair is $600. So stupid that they allocate so many to Platinum pricing that isn't market based. Chicago Night 1 also has middle balcony on StubHub also for $600/pair. I imagine it's a LiveNation decision and they're just hoping to rope some people in at exorbitant prices who either aren't aware of or don't trust StubHub, but these onsales have gotten really silly with so many seats classified as "Platinum" which doesn't even include any in Orchestra (which thankfully appear to mostly be allocated to 10C).
Amazing how many of the balcony seats were classified as Platinum. Bottom pic is the last one so they appear to be adding to the Platinum seats. Annoying that those on Waitlist never get a crack at seats at normal price when so many tickets are classified as Platinum (and which are priced higher than StubHub so don't even sell on day tickets go onsale).
Yep... A total cash grab from TM. It's like they're saying, "How can we get even more money out of these seats?" More should have gone at face value to VF/waitlist folks than put into Platinum Seats. Not cool.

TM gets a fee. Usually 20%. The bulk of the ticket income goes to the promoter and the artist. In this case Eddie Vedder.
Damn, I just had an upgrade in my cart. Night 1 seattle tickets for $400 USD, which was cheaper than the $500USD I paid for row 30ish. TM cart kicked me out at the end because it said I exceeded the limit for that night. I guess I ordered the first pair using my cc on my wife's TM account. System seems pretty clever :(
Plat system jacked them up to 755 after I failed
Maybe it's for the best. Getting a bad feeling these shows won't happen or I'll have a super hard time crossing the border.

Its all of these things. But you have to consider platinum seats are also a way to subsidize the other seats (VF and fan club). Also consider they lose the resale revenue (which has to be huge).
Also consider that TM and the promoter are generally one in the same these days. They might also own the venue too. So thats three shares of $ to the same company.
The overall cost of events needs to back out one way or another. Cost = Band fee + TM + venue + promoter + misc
No resale $? Fan club pricing? VF pricing? Its going to balance out.

Pricing does not happen in a vacuum. The artist has to sign off on pricing.
TM just added more platinum seats for Los Angeles....very close seats ranging from $700 to $955 in the first ten rows. Sucks that they are taking the fun out of checking for face value ticket releases.

I gave in and bought platinum seats for LA. Not the ones you are talking about but still very expensive. Kinda regretting it now.
DRS-C Row GG for night two. Back aways, but almost dead center. I checked out a view from seats that showed the same seats 2 rows ahead of us. It's not too bad.
I sat in virtually those same seats for Jack White a few years back and I was pretty happy. This area is elevated so you aren't staring at the back of someone's head (unlike the CIBC Theater where I saw Hamilton) plus it's right by the sound board so the acoustics should be really good. Enjoy!

Thanks for the insight, we are looking forward to the show.

The vaccine mandate to go inside businesses doesn’t surprise me, but the age of 5 years or older does. I would have figured it would have been 12 years or older.
