If anyone is considering, Lance is awesome, I bought one of his drop in the park photos from him last year. Super nice guy, 10 out of 10 would recommend supporting his art.2016: Telluride, CO

A good friend of mine is a friend of Lance Mercer. On a whim I asked her if she could ask him if he had any photos from my first show - Patriot Center, Fairfax,VA, 4/8/94 - and if so would he be willing to sell one to me. It turns out he did have photos from that show. My friend sent me a few shots to choose from. I chose this one. It arrived today. I love it. You can see from where he captioned it that it was from my very first show. I can’t wait to frame it. As he usually does, he also included a small photo from the same show. I will post that later. I will post again when it is all framed up.Post edited by GlowGirl on0 -

@PearlJam’s #DropInThePark was a historic concert that also served as a major voter registration drive, drawing over 30,000 fans to Magnuson Park. During the set, Eddie Vedder’s mic got stuck in the stage scaffolding. He climbed up, prepared the 100-foot mic cord, rappelled down, and swung out over the crowd.
The moment was captured by Lance Mercer, whose insider access to Seattle’s punk and grunge scene led to his role as the band’s official photographer from 1992 to 1995.
This print and others are now on view in our new exhibition, Come As You Are: Grunge, Counterculture, and the Seattle Sound.
📆 On view Feb 20 - Apr 4, 2026
