I thought Ed’s mic cut out during Never Destination and then took a few songs to get the vocal mix right, The tech switched it out a couple times during the first set.

I'm hoping for a 10:30 or 11:00 end time tonight...but is that out of the question?  Maybe when they set up the Encore that was part of the deal (to end earlier this weekend?).

I’m sure the 10pm curfew was part of the deal with the areas elites to allow the encore to happen at all.
Yeah, that has to be part of it unfortunately, although they did go over 10pm (thought not by much) on Saturday.  So maybe it was due to Eddie's health issue he mentioned?  Or maybe they just weren't going to go much past a 2 hour show at a festival...and they're all 3 years older than the last time they toured.  All I know is that they kicked ass every night and each show was different and each more magical than the last one.

Per local ordinances, there is a noise curfew from 10:00p.m. to 7:00a.m.

They negotiated a later curfew for last weekend, I guess, but while I and others assumed that was true for this weekend as well, apparently it was not.

I thought both PJ sets were awesome, and the overall lineup both days was great, and the weather was SO MUCH better than it has been, so I have no complaints.

Anyone else hear Ed tease Release before Whoever Said??
Whew, glad that happened I thought the edible just took me to a different place. What a set and there was a tease!

Finally getting around to writing my reviews of the shows after the complete blur the past 48 hours has been. Had an incredible weekend and thought the boys sounded amazing. I was the row behind the rail, Mike’s side. Had a surreal experience. From the moment they came on stage, I felt like the band and the crowd were really in tune with each other and the energy in the place was amazing. The band seemed much more at ease and less nervous than when I saw them a few weeks ago at SHN. Best version of even flow I’ve heard in 23 shows. During the solo, Mike looked like a man possessed and needed to get out everything he’d been holding in the past 18 months. Also the best version of RVM I’ve heard- the build up was off the charts. The debut of who ever said rocked and I’m hoping it becomes a live staple going forward. Other highlights for me were opening with low light, garden, and sweet lew. Also, best part of the weekend for me was getting to meet and hang out with so many awesome people from all over the place. Feel grateful to be part of such an amazing community of people. Can’t wait to see you all at the next one!

DotC and Who Ever Said felt like the highlights. Ed sang his ass off on WES. Great vibe when you start out like that. Great weather and very chill crowd, Ed mentioned it was nice to see all the kids up front (also it might have freaked him out). Hopefully a "no repeats" wkd considering no Quick Escape / Superblood Wolfmoon. Any show with DTE, State Of Love And Trust and RVM in the main set is an awesome show for me.
I was in the second row near the middle- I did feel like the kids were a little distracting for Ed. At first it was endearing & then he seemed to keep watching them like making sure they were okay.

    It's all percolated now.

Sweet Lew was the highlight for me.  It just felt really funky and wow only 2 other times ever so that was a freaking gem
RVM - close second, they really took it up a notch here and the song had a re-vitalized passion - It felt kind of stale at the 2 Seattle shows in 2018 - stale enough where I was hoping to not hear it for a while but this was phenomenal!
Garden / I Am Mine - Pleasant surprises - first time hearing both.  Garden felt really awesome though (maybe because I have heard I Am Mine on Ed solo shows)

WES - Sounded pretty good live - This one has some long term potential I think
Buckle Up - Absolutely love the song and I thought it was phenomenal live and at the same time expect it to be a rarity
River Cross: Enjoyed it a lot.  I can see it fitting into encores where they slow it down quite a bit

Round 2 on DOTC, Never Destination and 7 o clock - DOTC gained momentum live felt it was much better than SHN - I can see this one fitting into sets for a while

ND  - really like this one way more live than I do on studio album - fits in well as a quick rocker

7 doesn't have staying power to me and it felt too long and was when I moved to the back for a beer refill.  It's a great song and it was cool to see it live multiple times but as Ed said: The song has a lot of words.  Personally, the song is too wordy and too long to make it a live staple. The song is also rhythmic enough it's not something you can really speed up.  Hope it gets a few more turns in 2022 for people who didn't make these festivals and quickly meets retirement/rarity status.

This was my favorite of the 2021 gigs!

Agreed, plus it's a Stone song. And he doesn't get enough writing credits anymore. Sorry haters but the same guy that wrote your fav album (TEN) wrote that song.  B)

I don't think ANY of the festival set lists were "festival setlists". I went to 3 of the 4 shows (just couldn't logistically/financially pull off Ohana Weekend AND Encore. I bet on Encore.)
As the band took the stage, I was fully expecting a (welcome) Gigaton opener. But along with a few thousand others, we felt the warm sun driving by one more time (even though it had already set) with the opening chords of Low Light.
Not a warm blanket, a warm drive. The only way one can truly describe LL.
Right there, I knew this was as close as we were going to get to PJ30.

I might be biased, but Eddie's vocal mix sounds better here than it does on the 09/26 Ohana boot. That one reminds me of decent 90's boots. 10/01 sounds as good as it did that night.
I'm right back to the smell of ocean air, smokin' trees, spilt beer, and sunblock mixed with B.O. All welcome.
If you weren't at SHN, or Ohana I, it's only fair to bust out DotC. I've yet to get tired of it.

I've seen enough Eddie shows (4) to know that the man knows how to use a loop machine efficiently & sparingly. Like a master chemist. Can't believe that was ever a bone of contention on here :smh:
Never Destination fires up to keep the people dancing. Spiritual cousin to Supersonic, IMO. Just a touch of Ramones for good measure. Didn't hear these keyboards live!

Early in the set for DTE! That's when I knew all bets were off: the band has hit shuffle, and are ABSOLUTELY playing what they want to (and can remember to) play. We all win. I LOVED the grooves here.
Side note: I know there's been a lot of talk about Even Flow & GTF being played at album speed, but you can HEAR Yield here. Other than Ten, I'd wager it's the album they went to the most to get their chops up for these shows. The last time they faced such a sea change was when Jack left and Matt had to learn EVERYTHING.
This time, everyone was on equal footing.
Wonder what listening to those records back must've been like for them...

Ed, the Dad rules. If you're gonna learn cursing, might as well be at a PJ show.
The best Seven O'Clock is still SHN, but they finally nail the rhythm here. Gigaton in it's grandest form: a call to arms to save ourselves & the planet we inhabit.

I state for the record, that aside from the variety, the feel, and the overall celebratory vibe, the inclusion on Sweet Lew ALONE makes Ohana Encore the unofficial PJ30.
Also, arguably the best performance of Sweet Lew ever??

The comments Ed made here are very prescient considering what happened a week later...
Please do what you can to help elect officials who will ban offshore drilling & focus on affordable electric vehicle technology. Not open for debate :)

That being said, I love Better Man, I love Patti Smith, but I like what I like: Save It For Later is the perfect BM tag. Forever & always. Did that matter here at Encore? Hell no.
People were so damn happy to be there hearing classics, new & old.

I should be noted that with the singing of Patti Smith Group's "People Have The Power" at the end of Better Man and the surprise mega-ensemble performance of RITFW the following night featuring a blink & you'll miss it cameo from John McEnroe & PATTY SMYTH, we ALMOST had a crossing the streams/Nexus moment. Thankfully, crisis: averted.

RVM had a few bumps, but it still packed a punch. Mike slips up, and rights the ship. It's all about Matt. The engine room! We are now in the Encore I stage of Encore Night I.
Welcome to the world in your full band form, River Cross. A prayer, and hopefully not, an elegy.

Garden still casts it's dark spell even on a bright night like this one. And yet through the darkness, the anger of Why Go takes us right into the reflection & contemplation of Alive.
Not since the Philly Ten show did we get 3 Ten bangers back-to-back-to-back??
