2022 spring rumor

Have a source that works at enterprise center in St. Louis  that is saying they’re trying to work something out for March or April. Tool just announced they will be there in March as well.

I have Nashville but I’m afraid they will not want to do vaxxed only in that arena/city and will end up canceling.  Tennessee is one of the worst states for covid and vaccinations

The Euro 2022 dates were announced last March.
  • I’m going to try for Nashville if Covid is a distant memory
Hmmmmm. Probably won’t be trying for Nashville then unfortunately.
  • Why is it a rumor? The band announced they would reschedule for next spring when they announced Ohana encore.

I thought the spring 22' dates were already locked in but haven't been announced yet. Waiting until the ohana shows finish up.

Listening to Ed at Ohana, I don’t know if the band is comfortable with indoor shows yet.  And that probably, sadly, makes sense.  I don’t think there will be an announcement any time soon.  Hence why I’m sticking around for Encore.

  • I thought the same thing about Ed’s remark, that it seemed he was hinting the four festival shows might be all they do in the short term. One would hope the world will continue to be ok so they can do the European tour and then perhaps some additional outdoor shows in the States.

Indoors is tricky because some places they are scheduled to play likely won’t comply with vaccine/testing mandates and I do not see them playing shows without it.

Won't matter come October 14th. All Live Nation events have to comply by then, regardless of location. I'd have to go find the article (could have read it wrong too).

If outdoor jams they will only do for now, then here's hoping Magnetic Hill in Moncton, New Brunswick gets Pearl Jam Experienced! Or yet the Halifax Commons in Nova Scotia. Summer of 2022!

If they are afraid of playing inside how about booking a May/June Canadian/US shed tour?!

I don't understand Ed's comments or the concern.  There are indoor stadium concerts, football games, full arenas for hockey/NBA are incoming.  A bunch of arena shows are happening in the next 3 to 4 months.

If the band isn't comfortable and delays further that is their prerogative.  I hope that is not the rumor though. Holding conviction the 2022 spring dates are locked in and just pending announcement. Probably just trying to sell what's left of Encore tickets.

Dave Matthews Band ran into this issue in Oklahoma.  They canceled the last two shows of the tour this fall because of it.

At SHN at least he didn’t say anything about indoor vs. outdoor - just that when they committed to doing these festivals a few months ago it seemed like the world would be a lot different and less scary than it ended up being. I think we can all agree with that.

But, I think the optimistic way to look at it is that September looks a lot different than we thought it would in April, so who’s to say what things will look like in February?

  • I hate doing this. I noted that in the Ohana Fest follow-up/ please give us your feedback email, it  says "Who's staying for the Encore?! Don't miss one of your last chances to see Pearl Jam this year! "

I'm a language geek, so to me there's a big difference between "your last chance" and "one of your last chances." (I spent too much of my youth analyzing poetry.)

That said: 1) I know nothing about tour plans; 2) I cannot imagine that they are scheduling any concerts for the rest of this year. I'd guess this hints at a late-night TV appearance or some other covid-safe performance.

But I'm just guessing, and I'll go feel bad about contributing to the chatter now.

They’ll play the postponed shows at the advertised venues.

Dear PJ: please don’t schedule shows until late March/early April at the earliest. Thank you.

Yes we are assuming the rest of 2021 is out. Hoping for early 2022!

I thought it was pretty clear about 2021 and tour plans when they announced Ohana Encore back in July.

Pearl Jam is excited to announce that they will be headlining both nights of the 2-day Encore Weekend. The Ohana Encore Weekend marks Pearl Jam's only additional concerts for 2021. Pearl Jam's 2020 North American tour dates are expected to be rescheduled for early 2022. All tickets will be honored for the new show dates. Refunds for the 2020 North America tour are available at your point of purchase. Stay tuned to pearljam.com for the latest information.

Well technically you have two chances to see Pearl Jam at Encore if you buy a single day, so Friday would be one of your last chances...?
