Fantastic song. And any day with a NEW ALBUM!!! announcement is a good one. Quarantine served Ed's inner muse well. We haven't heard an influx and smattering of this many new songs since the days when PJ released b-sides.
One listen in and, as others said, TP vibes are well and alive, especially in the chorus. While the sounds are not unexpectedly Ed, they're uniquely different from ITW and Uke. I'm stoked to hear the rest of the album. Bring on Ohana!
I had an idea he was working with Watt on something back in the spring. Definitely an in demand guy. Cant wait to hear the whole thing. Love that some chili peppers and a heartbreaker are all over this track
Hey - how do you know who played on this track? I was looking for that information

can someone explain what the taxes are? this wasn't on anything I've previously purchased. UK customer.
Taxes are the 20% UK VAT, which is now charged at source (since Jan this year) on low value international orders for purchases under £135 (around $180). The item will arrive by Royal Mail with no customs and VAT to pay, as TenClub has already collected the VAT. Actually works out cheaper as you are no longer paying the £8 Royal Mail handling fee, just the VAT component.

I have this playing in
the background (MP3) and who I am really listening to? Eddie? Tom? I feel there
is a Springsteen somewhere in this too and Eddie has created another
masterpiece.

This makes sense and the tax is cheaper than the handling for UK Customers. Taxes $7.60 = £5.59. Royal Mail Handling £8 = $11.06.
I am from Ireland and
I bought two copies of this. One for me and the other will go to someone else I
know. The shipment is the same for a single copy and I paid no taxes for both,
but then again I could get busted here with the postal system handling when the package arrives at my door which is roughly around €7
= $8.26 which is 23% for the revenue.
First thoughts and vibe was a Tom Petty one for sure, and I love it. After a few listens the arrangement seems a bit like a John Mayer production with Eddie singing on it, which isn't a bad thing. I'm pumped for the new album, and also fingers crossed he plays this one at Ohana...fortunate to be going both weekends
I'm also shocked at the cost of shipping and taxes are just lame. It isn't just the club though. These are problems created by the likes of FedEx, UPS, even Amazon and then don't get me started on governments.
When does song 2 "The Haves (sp?)" drop?

^ yet, with the same hint of the have and hold theme as in DoTC...
My favorite parts... hitting the high notes in WaaAAaYY... the mmm sound of Ed's voice after 'he should of known'. sounds like pure sex... the irony of his child singing 'long way' - because of the long way... that and the guitars kick some hot ass! It's also interesting that Ed takes both the male and female perspectives explaining from the guy's point of view and guessing the girls,...
Edit: plus we didn't have to beg for the words! SWEET.
Well said...I was about to defend Gigagton with listing out the 5 or 6 killer songs on there. I'm excited to hear some of it live, hoping they play my favs and leave off the not so favorite. Are you going to Ohana?

These shipping rates and now UK plus US tax means my days of ordering directly from this band are over.
@Santos L. Halper
How about explaining the shipping costs? They look to be batshit crazy expensive.
So, how about an explanation.
