    Hope you are right man.

Every single person I know is testing here daily for the last couple of weeks. With so many more people having access to rapid tests more low or no symptomatic cases are going to be picked up that normally would not have been detected. Great to help stop the spread but seeing a scary high case count is not telling the whole story here. Next couple of months will be interesting to see how this trends with hospitalizations.

Lucky you guys for having tests.

BC is hoping the feds provide rapid tests in which the reagent can be broken into groups of five for easier distribution.

I wish I knew the truth about home test.  Some of you here testify to their worthiness.  When I went for my test a month or so ago they gave me the swab test and told me that test is far more accurate than home tests.

my understanding is the home test is not nearly as effective as you don't put the swab up to your brain, which is where most of the disease is lurking.

i just saw the dirty nil had to cancel their last 2 shows of the tour in Hamilton, ON today and tomorrow. I am just happy they got back across the border before they had to cancel. may have been hard for them to get back to canada after touring all over the US.

Yeah this shit is everywhere! I’m scheduled to fly down to Chile on Insurrection Day and stay down there till the beginning of February, and now we have to be super careful not to get it so nice we have to get tested before leaving US and when we get there too so yeah I’m stressed out . I did get insurance for my tickets I’m not sure if it covers having to cancel due to virus..

Kids will be fully vaccinated on Dec. 23 (two weeks out from their second dose) and the wife and I are both boosted, so I went ahead and bought tickets a couple of weeks ago to see the new Spidey movie on that day, figuring we did everything we were supposed to do and could finally go to the cinema.

    Guess I was wrong.

    Good thing Fandango offers refunds.

The Chinese were doing anal swabs.  Maybe that’s most accurate…

I have only 1 test since the pandemic started…

Does not sound like fun, but probably less of a discomfort than getting a prostate exam (ugh!).  Apparently very accurate as well:
"Li Tongzeng, deputy director of the respiratory and infectious diseases department at Beijing Youan Hospital, said in an interview with state media that anal swabs appear to be more accurate at detecting the coronavirus than nasal or throat testing."

My 16 year old niece just tested positive for Covid today.  I just FaceTimed her. She is more upset about having to quarantine during her winter break from school than she is about having Covid. Her symptoms seem fairly mild so far - a mild fever and some body aches. I hope they stay that way. She is fully vaxxed but not yet boosted.
