I'm not sure if it's the insanely inept response to covid 19 and the vaccine rollout here in Canada and Ontario specifically but I've come to the conclusion that August 20 2018 will more than likely be the last time I see Pearl Jam live. It's taken me a while to get to this point, but I've almost accepted this as fact. And to think that we were a week away from another tour last March. Damn.

I'm more optomistic.  Band's got a few years left in it's tank.  Vaccine rollout here in Canada should still be done by the fall.   Eventually we'll get concerts again.

I always figured PJ would go the distance like u2 or the stones.  Lots of time for a tour :)

Sorry you feel that way. Can I ask you what changes for you if you are vaccinated today or in the fall if shows will always be next spring at the earliest?

They are only in their mid-late 50s! Other bands like the Who etc tour in their 70s. My guess is we will have at least 10 more years of them. Don’t be so pessimistic

At the very least we’ll get a 5-10 stadium tour every few years. Easy money that’s hard to pass up. If you could rake in a few million to pass to your kids by working a few weeks every other year, wouldn’t you?

Agree. My guess is they may start not playing as much in Aus/NZ but I would have thought American and Euro shows will still happen even if just 10-15 dates every year instead of 20-30

Unless the OP has a terminal illness (in which case, very sorry to hear) a few months delay in vaccination schedule should not have a material impact on the long term tour prospects.  There’s also a decent chance the first country that will get supply from the US when they are done is Canada (tied with Mexico).  In fact a little bump is coming from the US this week.  That could advance things.

On another note, the 8/20/18 show would be a good way to go out, if that was someone’s last show.  The only drawback of that show was the storm delay which probably cut the set list down a bit.

These fools will be playing for another 20 years. It’s not like they tour like DMB

Nothing changes for me if I got vaccinated tomorrow ( I'm end of June at the earliest for 1st shot, thanks for working entire time with the general public) Canada is spacing shots out 4 months against instructions from Pzifer and no data to support this plan. Majority of Canadians will have 1st dose by September if no supply issues and 2nd dose by December at the earliest. This is if there are no supply issues, no new variants that limit efficiency of vaccine and enough people get vaccinated.  Unfortunately I don't think things go back to normal even with vaccines. I'd love to be totally wrong, but the longer this thing spreads the worse it's going to get.

I think Sep/Dec would be the latest not the earliest unless the supply stops.  If you are a front line worker and the geniuses deciding the priorities have not recognized that then at least accept thanks on this board.

Grocery store worker, essential enough to be working but disposable enough to be end of the line for vaccinations.

I'm pretty sure that September 4, 2018, will mark the last time I ever see Pearl Jam live -- that is, unless my son wants to see them at some point -- and I'm more than OK with that.

    I've seen enough.
    I SAW PEARL JAM

I remember one time I was at Fenway....and sitting on the left field side, pretty close to the field....saw Dankind walking from his seat...screamed, waved, yelled, and acted the fool.
Dankind did not hear nor see me.
Pretty sure that was September of 2018.....

I'm pretty sure I'll see PJ again.  I feel like Covid will be solved sooner or later.   PJ isn't going to hang it up.  When they play near me, I can't see my self not going.
