It sounds great to me, but these days I'm not the best judge of audiophile quality. Everything I hear is filtered through a racket of tinnitus. But I dare say it sounds better than a highly compressed CD, and my copy is nice and flat with no clicks or ticks. And the few on Discogs give it high marks for good sound.

You would think so! They were loud, but that did not give me tinnitus, probably because my buddy and I were in the second row (the San Jose Civic had assigned as per ticket purchase seating, no GA or mosh pit).
Now wait! There's a logic to this. MY buddy and I were in the middle of the row and the huge PA speakers were off to the sides, not facing us. We got plenty of volume from the amps, but not as bad if we had been closer to one side or the other in front of a PA. Oh, and guess who the opened for? The Who! This was before they went full on with volume so the performance was actually quite pleasant.
Now the real tinnitus story start with my being within arms length of the sudden ignition of a concentration of hydrogen and oxygen gasses. I know of nothing louder. Not a shot gun, nothing. It's a wonder my ear drums didn't burst.
