if you are a musician who has been buying instruments for the past several years, $1900 (with discounts available) for a guitar with these appointments and with relic is not (unfortunately) overpriced.  At $1700, it is fairly priced for the current market and most dealers will give that 10-15% off.

And you get a nice case as well in a day where most manufacturers only provide a fabric shell in this price range.

Is the autograph really a “production” Polaroid???? So not hand signed…

Also I would love to own a “replica” of one of Mike’s guitars but seriously…. I can buy a pawn shop guitar fender that sounds the same when I play it.  This whole obsession with the “special years” is just a supply demand thing where rich d bags buy up a lot of the limited market and it goes insane.

There is no reason these guitars are this overpriced.

One of my favorite “fables” of Nirvana was Kurt Cobain shopped pawn shops looking for throw away pedals/guitars to make a crazy sound.  This is nothing but a money grab.

If Mike ever want to actually sell his stage played guitar ill bid, but the replica thing is kinda just sad… why???
Why? It’s fun and interesting, and holds emotional connection to a guitarist in your favorite band. That being said, I haven’t bought one…yet, because logically I know it’s more than the typical made in Mexico strat. Also these will probably be worth double in 15 years.

Absolutely. How is it sad?! A replica of Mikes best known guitar for under 2k. If it’s not your thing whatever but why the negatively around this. It’s far from a money grab.

Why do people collect Zippo lighters or Benaroya vinyl or anything? Why have I stockpiled enough running shoes to last me for the next 3-4years (I go through 6-7 pairs a year)?

I wouldn't buy one of these for myself, but I got my husband a Tom Morello guitar a few years ago and he was psyched, and I bet he'll love this as well.

I was wondering that too. Fender is making it sound like it’ll happen with the “give us your email and we’ll contact you when it’s back in stock” button.

Mine arrived this morning and this amplified my joy tenfold.   These cases aren’t cheap and despite buying a few £1k+ guitars over the years, this is the first time I’ve had one come with a solid case.

I was wondering that too. Fender is making it sound like it’ll happen with the “give us your email and we’ll contact you when it’s back in stock” button.
I’ve already received 3 or 4 Fender advertising emails.
The first batch of these was limited to 500. Only 2 listed on Reverb right now are $2500 and $2700. Hope Fender can make enough so all who want one can eat.

I ordered one of these via Guitar Center -- delayed multiple times, now backordered until March. :-(
