This was by far the best "meeting Ed" story I've read here.  Absolutely priceless.  Please don't sell anything from that night.  What an experience.  Thanks for sharing.

Dennis, that’s probably the best meeting Ed story I've ever read.
I have a pretty good meeting Ed story that involves both of us being at a small party in John Entwistle's hotel suite in NYC after the 1996 MSG Quadrophenia shows. The party ended at 7:00am with John Entwistle passed out under the table. I had several long conversations with Ed throughout the night. It's a really long story how I got invited to that party, and someday I will write it out. I also briefly met Pete Townshend that night. Still one of the best nights of my life. But not nearly as sentimental as Dennis' story.

Wait, you partied with Ed and The Ox?

That is extremely kind. I have all 3 show posters. Thank you.

I was going to keep this part to myself because it is kind of emotional for me, but I now realize it is better to tell this final part because it shows what kind of person Ed is.
The typing I heard was Ed typing the letter below. Ed used my dad's typewriter to type out "Man of the Hour" for me. Ed gave it to me when he called me on stage. I lost it that night after we got home. I was like a sprinkler. I love my dad, so I did it for him!

Jeebus.  If you don't really need the money I would reconsider selling.  Hell, I'll give you some money toward keeping it if you really need the money badly.
Everything about that story is great.

Wow. That is incredible. So special. What a great gift to honor your dad. I agree with everyone here - don’t sell if you don’t have to.

Yes. But I will post that story elsewhere another time. Dennis has a really beautiful story here.

I am so glad you are keeping it. After reading your story, I was also about to offer to chip in to make sure you keep it. Definitely, one of the most special things I have read on these forums.

Did Ed play Man of the Hour the night he handed you this letter on stage? I get chills thinking about it. This story is so great.

He did play Man of the Hour, and it was stunning/beautiful/flawless/perfect.
