    Scott The Hoople

Thanks to Michael Flamm from Cincinnati who reminds me that it's not a bad idea to let followers on Bandcamp know what the hell might be goin' on.

This is a rare moment (these days) where I venture out into the world of people, gigs, truckstops, masks, and playing music LIVE. The Minus 5 (performing the songs of M5, Young Fresh Fellows and Scott The Hoople are on tour with OUR FAVORITE BAND: NRBQ!!!

Come join us, and meet me at the merch booth. With a mask on!

    BANDCAMP FRIDAY AGAIN!!!

Thanks @Bandcamp for waiving their cut of all sales today (Midnight to Midnight Pacific Time). It's a great day to pre-order upcoming limited edition vinyl reissues of The Baseball Project’s Vol. 1, Vol. 2 & 3rd! thebaseballproject1.bandcamp.com/music

And don’t forget the brand new BBP album coming out on Omnivore Records June 30 — come see us on the road in August!

Then there’s the No Ones titanic new album out on Yep Roc end of this month. We call music MY BEST EVIL FRIEND because it is — you couldn’t have a better and more treacherous life partner, right? Beautiful purple and orange double vinyl and slimmed-but-sexy CD available now to pre-order: the-no-ones.bandcamp.com/album/my-best-evil-friend

This next one is not available YET but keep an eye out for all-new MINUS 5 release via Yep Roc & Bandcamp in June. We will be continuing our Neil Young fixation with Calling Cortez (Neil Vol. 3) — a wanton blend of McCaughey originals and Young Man’s Fancy favorites. Scott The Hoople's NEIL (Vol. 2) will show up on this very site later this year...

Tickets on sale NOW for No Ones / Minus 5 dates in Northwest, Norway, and UK, June 16 thru July 8. Yes indeed.

I'll shut up now. Thanks for listening, forever - Scott

“Cortez is a more collaborative band-like effort, with M5 stalwarts Peter Buck, Joe Adragna, Jenny Conlee, Debbi Peterson, Linda Pitmon, Kurt Bloch, Casey Neill, Mike McCready, Jimmy Talstra, Paulie Pulvirenti, and John Perrin.”

Now we need to know which tracks Mike plays on…

I don't know. It's not listed on the site or in the CD credits inside.

    Hey ghouls and bats!

I've been biding my borrowed time, rambling Europe with the No Ones and Minus 5, and Baseball Project all summer across the USA. Met many of you at the merch tables!

This Bandcamp upheaval really got me flustered. It's terrible when HALF your staff gets laid off and you don't know what the hell is going on. However, I've decided to go ahead with planned releases of now. Please support BANDCAMP UNION, and let's hope that this happening platform can somehow survive and thrive. We shall see.

Anyway, TODAY see's the release of "HAPPY HALLOWEEN from THE DUNGEONS OF HORRORS". It's a long-rumored long-simmering cauldron of fun (and not-so-fun) words and melodies, all written by my brother Kevin and/or me. The same tandem that brought you "The Death Of Big Ed Delahanty". And who could forget Kevin's beautiful and mysterious "When God Made Time" as recorded by The Minus 5? I drafted some last-minute help from M5 stalwarts PETE BUCK and JOE ADRAGNA (see The Junior League) to get these tracks into shape. Thanks, guys! It's available for download now just in time for swingin' costume parties or, better yet, sad Halloween imbibing.

COMING SOON: "NEIL (Vol. 2): Welcome To My Dream World" on download and very limited vinyl. November is Neil month! I'll be commemorating this new LP and Neil's birthday and my stroke-aversary (?) on Nov. 15 with Minus 5 & friends at Mississippi Studios in Portland, Oregon (where else?).

Thanks again for all your support here on Bandcamp and elsewhere!
