Actually, instead of bumping we need to create a petition. What the fuck is this world?0 -

Yeah, there's no hurry, of course..I was just wandering where you thought the petition should be located.
But this idea really is very inspiring.Won't let the light escape from me.

But yeah, Holland would rule. I think Italy would be the best.
Oh, yes.
Ok, set.
I've changed my mind. They could definitely pull of 60000 or so. Play it at Meazza soccer stadium, "nella bella Milano", about thirty yards from my parents' apartment... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -

Haha, wow, didn't expect that people would take this so seriously.
But, since the idea seems to be generally supported, why not look into it? Is there anyone who doesn't think a Pearl Jam concert of this sort would be the greatest show in the history of the universe?
Before we start collecting money, making new websites, etc., we first need to look into the plausibility of this happening.
Does anyone on here know -- or know someone who knows -- about how concerts are organized, paid for, etc.? Are there any rules about booking a show that we wouldn't be able to accomplish as non-industry people?
Also, is there anyone close enough to the band or its management to get an idea of whether or not there'd ever be a chance in hell that they would go for something like this?
Once we get an answer to those two questions, THEN we can start appointing people to look into the logistics further...Everything has chains...Absolutely nothing's changed. - PJ

Honestly, looks like they are pretty stingy with small 10c only shows. Why would they do a huge one, with a guarantee of a seat for each member, having the fans dictate the setlist?
But hey... Milan... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -

I hate to be a buzzkill, but i (along w/2 others) tried to do almost this exact same thing about 4-5 yrs ago, we got just under 3,000 signatures, and that took months! and we got it as far as band management, and then it stalled.
We had websites made, and w/over 30,000 board members at that time, we only got about 2,900 sigs.
There are so many factors that are out of your reach, and this is so much more expensive than you'd believe. We were hit w/the facts, and for the 3 of us, it was just way too big of a mountain to climb.
Again, sorry to be a buzzkill, but don't get your hopes up.-Chris

- though I dont like the stadium idea. A huge stage setup in the middle of a desert, or a field of some sorts - and 100.000 or more fans rocking
sounds good to me. It would be phenomenal.

If you all chip in 0,25 more, you could pay for my flight too....ahhh, come on, you know you'd want me there
Very positive idea, although I am not sure if there would still be ppl whining. Of course with 37.0000...is that the number?....you can never satisfy all.Why not be mediocre and be the best at it that you can be?0 -
Good one.
I had an idea...(stemmed from seeing people sitting??? at PJ..and I'm talking
up front, not the lawns) I want to have like a "last man standing".
If you fall asleep, or get too trashed..ya gotta go. The people behind get to
move up...and so on. I would be there until they played every single song in their catalogue...even through the covers!!! Sounds like a 3 day PJ fest to me!!! Just something stupid I thought upPEARL JAM - It's what's for breakfast

Yeah, definitely, signs of crappy behaviour etc: the person is out - and, yeah.. maybe the people could switch seats during breaks..not a bad idea, i must admit. Or should I say places, I dont like the ideas of seats in a rock concert - if you get tired, you could go to your tent and sleep.

This is such a great idea, but I think guaranteeing every 10c member a seat will be the biggest problem. There has to be at least 600,000 members in the 10c (my member # is in the 400,000 range and I've been a member for almost 10 years). So let's figure a 1/3 of the members live outside of North America and couldn't attend... that leaves 400,000. Now figure another 1/3 couldn't make it to the venue due to costs of travel, scheduling conflicts, etc... that leaves 200,000. Now every member gets a pair of tickets, so they would have to find a venue that could accomodate almost a half a million people. That's pretty much impossible. If PJ would ever do something like this it would have to be on a first come first serve basis for all 10c members and and hopefully they would play more than one night so everyone at least has a shot of seeing it once.Camden 8/28/1998; Jones Beach 8/24/2000; Camden 9/1/2000; Camden 9/2/2000; Albany 4/29/2003; New York 7/8/2003; Vancouver 9/2/2005; Atlantic City 10/1/2005; Albany 5/12/2006; E. Yes, it would never work with such many people. Realistically, the concert capacity could be something like 10.000-40.000 people depending on the venue and location. Huge masses of people, like in bonnaroo, the only option is camping out.Won't let the light escape from me.
