If PJ played a show like this, would it work?

Totally random idea, but just curious if you guys think it would work.

Let's say PJ decided they wanted to put on the craziest Pearl Jam show ever. They wanted it to be a fan club only show -- but with the guarantee that any 10-clubber who wants to go will have a spot (they each get to bring a date, of course).

So they choose a location somewhere in the middle of the country (say, Kansas -- sorry international people, you'd have to travel for this one!) and a venue large enough to hold a shitload of people (say, a football stadium).

They announce that they would hold a poll on their website of what songs their fans want them to play. The top 30-35 songs that we vote for will comprise the setlist (PJ gets to choose the order, of course).

They sell tickets through their fan club only, since this is technically a private show.

Now...it's a stretch, I know...but hypothetically, how many people do you think would attend this show? And would it without question be the greatest show (and party) of all time?

That would be an unbelievable show... :D - though I dont like the stadium idea. A huge stage setup in the middle of a desert, or a field of some sorts - and 100.000 or more fans rocking ;) sounds good to me. It would be phenomenal.

You're right. A huge field, similar to the Polo Grounds in Indio (where Coachella takes place), would be ideal.

It would be crazy dealing with general admission for a show like that, though. :D

If anyone here has ever read the book Perfume by patrick suskind (or seen the movie)...

I like to think the crowd at this show would be identical to the crowd during the last scene of the book... lol.

I bet if every interested 10C pitched in $10 we would have enough to book a venue and hire PJ ourselves. ;)

  • Too many people. Seriously, you'd have just about every 10C member there.

    Would be fucking amazing though.

this whole plan is quite possible ;) all we need now is a someone trustworthy to handle the money collecting... :D (or some bank account where we could collect the money - and a group of trusted people would be responisble for the account and the use of money)

and the amount could be like 20 bucks.

because all the PJ fans all around the world could get together and party ;) . and I think the event could take place in Europe just as well, the concert place would be much cheaper I believe, and the overall atmosphere would be a lot more.. relaxed :D Maybe in Netherlands?.. or Denmark?
