    Great quote.

I pushed through today, in the onset of tropical storm ophelia's impact.

Slow 5k time, but I'm happy with it.  I never really pushed too hard, knowing that I had a long run to do after.

Slow (and extremely wet...may have some blisters to contend with this week) slog through the longer run once I got home.

Oh well, more work in the books.  What doesn't kill us makes us stronger!

Wow. Great effort in the storm. How was the wind? It’s a soggy mess here now as well. I hope the blisters don’t come for you. Now with going to Texas for the shows and having Covid it has been almost two weeks since my last run. I can’t remember any time where I took so much time off between runs. I am afraid it will take me a while to get back to where I was. I guess I will find out. I hope I can run again before Friday.

1 more week of hard effort training left, mission sub 90 half marathon still on track. Just need to find that little extra in the last 2 miles this year
That is an impressive workout.  Nice work.  When is the half?

October the 15th. My long runs for a half don't usually go this high, but I'm trying to find this extra couple of minutes off my time before I get too old 😂

    Wow. That is gorgeous.

On another note tomorrow will be three weeks since my last run. Between my travel to Texas and coming home with Covid, I just haven't been able to do it. I think I will try tomorrow - hopefully it won't take me too long to get back to where I was.

    That pic is awesome.

Just leaving Colorado but of course I brought my running gear.  Running at higher altitudes is fun....the last two miles this morning was a giant incline.  Had a good huff and puff.
Pics not great but only stopped long enough to take a few today.  The panoramic attempt made me laugh

Nice photos. Beautiful. I am sure running in higher altitudes is difficult. Your lung capacity must be amazing.

Thanks. I was going to ease back into it, but ended up doing my full run. I did stop a few times for 30 seconds or so, but managed to get it done. I saw on my app that between going to Minnesota, Texas, and having Covid I actually only ran twice in September. That has not happened since I started running in 2018. I had planned to run in Texas. I brought my running gear. But the partying, and the band, and the lining up for merch and GA took over. Oh well.

I took the plunge and bought a pair of saucony endorphin pro 3. My first carbon plated shoes. Found them for a reasonable price so let's see how they work this coming sunday

I have heard those are great shoes.  Awesome energy return and (once you are used to them) much faster recovery after longer runs.

    Chicago Marathon in the books!

We had perfect weather and the crowds were amazing.  I had a blast at the race.

Quads tightened up with about 8 miles to go so the last part of the race was rough.  I made it through all 26.2 but missed my goal time.  I will be back next year chasing a PR

    Awesome, congrats!

Beano, look forward to hearing about the new shoes and how you like them

Got a 3D Gait Analysis done last week.  Put sensors all over me like I was making a movie or video game.  Very interesting and have lots to work on.  Mixing in wome of the things now but once past the Philly Marathon next month will really dive in.

That sounds awesome. Hopefully it is helpful.

I have an appointment with a Sports Medicine Dr on Thursday, hopefully they can tell me what is going on with my hip/pelvis. I need to get back to running!!!
