    Seriously?
Yeah.  Terrorism is the promotion of an ideology, religious belief, or government agenda through terror.  What do you call it?  Supporting CHOP/CHAZ was just supporting terroristic activity. What else could it be?  The business and property owners and innocents of the area were terrorized.  Hopefully, everyone associated with CHOP gets their due.  A few years in Gitmo would be good.  Lets bring that place back and send a serious message.

WHOA!  Some of us may have supported some of the ideas behind CHOP/CHAZ, but who here supported the violent acts?  Who here supported the terrorizing of businesses?  Come on, man.

Is your statement intended to be constructive or do you just like to stir shit?   Labeling some of us here as "terrorists" is totally uncalled for.
Not you, but several were in open support of random violence against cops.
They probably supported the violence in chop too.

This stuff is all becoming pretty normalized. Trump doesn't do anything but whine about it on Twitter. Maybe Biden will actually try to put an end to this stuff...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I thought is was just a more radical free thinking left.  No way I would expect this as normalized thinking.

I may be wayyy out of the loop.

    Guess I'm not woke, yo!

Oh no, it's radical. When I say it's becoming "normalized," I mean that it's becoming not surprising to see these videos. I posted the George Washington statue in Portland being torn down and set on fire earlier in this thread (with no repercussions for the vandals). A few months ago, that would be jaw-dropping to see. But in the year 2020 AF (After Floyd), it's becoming pretty common.

So, do I start a new thread about the NYC CHOP zone?

So, do I start a new thread about the NYC CHOP zone?
A few pages ago when I began posting Portland shenanigans, I almost started a new one myself. But I didn't know what to call it. "General Post-Floyd Murder Chaos" perhaps?

As for NYC, it looks like it's getting pretty bad there. And with De Blasio, it'll likely get worse.

    The Police here HATE Deblausio.

I'm in the city once a week or so and it's still a ghost town.  Once the people that are protesting lose the idiots of the groups then normalcy may come back.  Until then business' are boarded up still.  I took a few pics.  It is eerie.

It is hard reading through 13 pages of opinions. I don’t have the time. I know rioting, burning stuff down and violence against police were all things that were justified here after What happened by a few posters. Have a great holiday weekend 👍🏼

Is your statement intended to be constructive or do you just like to stir shit?   Labeling some of us here as "terrorists" is totally uncalled for.
Not you, but several were in open support of random violence against cops.
They probably supported the violence in chop too.
I call bullshit I don’t remember anyone stating that violence is the way, not sure what posters were calling for violence!
There was. Not many. But there was.

No way. I can’t be bothered looking through all these threads.
Then you shouldn't back what I believe to be a false accusation and revisionist history. I believe Mace's accusation was regarding this thread, no? 13 pages isn't hard.
It is hard reading through 13 pages of opinions. I don’t have the time. I know rioting, burning stuff down and violence against police were all things that were justified here after What happened by a few posters. Have a great holiday weekend 👍🏼
No, its really not that hard. JeffB gave us observations of what he was seeing/hearing as a resident of Seattle/ BrianLux was offering his opinion on how he thought it might be a decent social experiment. Others were jumping on the guns/no guns ( I was one of them), believing Faux news', Faux reporting and some discussion about social change and how to bring it about. But I don't recall anyone saying or expressing, posting or being open to, "open support of random violence against cops. They probably supported the violence in CHOP too." This is a very strong and disturbing allegation to make and even worse when, thus far, it hasn't been backed up. So, if you or Mace would like to link to the posts that support the bolded statement to prove me wrong, please do because I don't recall reading anything like what Mace alleged.

I wonder how much money this lovely “experiment “ will cost Seattle.  What a disgrace. This should have been stopped immediately.

If it had been stopped, it wouldn't have been a social experiment, it would have been a police action.  If we are going use use that most vile word, "should", I would say CHOP/CHAZ should have had better organization, clearer goals, a more unified, well planned effort.

It's interesting to me that so many people have a hard time even imagining (let alone supporting the idea of) an non-policed society.  Society in general is more conservative (in the sense of maintaining status quo, not in the sense of conservation) than we care to admit.

I did not come out as an opponent of CHAZ when it was formed because early in its existence CHAZ was non-violent, and a welcomed change to a long string of consecutive nights of police violence with tear gas, pepper spray and rubber bullets being deployed, sometimes initiated by the police, sometimes in reaction to something the crowd was doing. But that place was chaos when the police were there posturing. So I observed that it was much more calm when the police stood down, and also agreed that it was an interesting social experiment. Using the word experiment should indicate that there was no expectation of outcome. I heard nobody thinking this would last forever and bring about world peace. I do think that it was a catalyst for early concessions made by the city. I agree with Brian that I don't think that CHAZ/CHOP was ready organizationally to bring about any real and lasting change, as their leadership continued to change, and the multiple leaders within CHOP started contradicting one another. The tenor of my posts also changed with the increased violence within and around CHOP toward the end. Once people started dying, especially young black men, it was clear that CHOP was counterproductive to the change they were purporting to be working for. I do not recall any poster in this thread condoning, supporting or encouraging random violence against police. Supporting CHAZ early on does not equate to supporting violence against cops if that is the connection trying to be made.

I wasn’t trying to get a rise out of anybody. And  I certainly wasn’t talking about you. You’re actually one of the few here that will come back and say “you know what, I changed my mind”. Most people just move on to the next thing. Your insight into CHAZ was incredibly helpful and informative.

Really?  Here, on this forum?  Supporting random violence?  :i_dunno:

Surprised you don’t remember, you engaged in the conversation and disagreed with the comments.

from the White Privilege thread on May 31
cblock4life to “go ahead and beat as many cops as you want.” This was your response to that comment.

    brianlux said:
Apologies if this has already been stated but white privilege started in 1619, over 400 years ago. So violence after 400 years seems reasonable, no? I wish they would stop hurting businesses, but go ahead and burn precincts and beat as many cops as you want.  400 years is a long time to make up for.

"beat as many cops as you want".  Does that include the cops who are marching with the protesters?  Does that include the ones who have spoken out in no uncertain terms against Derek Chauvin's despicable actions?  You would have them beaten?  Really???

Why are you posting that in this thread then? Why would you conflate the two? And in this thread, specifically about CHOP, would you make a claim from another thread, particularly after you chastised me in the past for the same thing? I guess I could bring up your hoping someone was robbed of their personal purchases in this thread but I think it was in the covid thread where you said that? But like many of your posts, makes sense.

And if I remember correctly, CBlock was accusing Brian of wanting to see cops beaten and Brian wasn’t stating that at all, nor was CBlock personally advocating for that. Context, you know?

Why are you posting that in this thread then? Why would you conflate the two? And in this thread, specifically about CHOP, would you make a claim from another thread, particularly after you chastised me in the past for the same thing? I guess I could bring up your hoping someone was robbed of their personal purchases in this thread but I think it was in the covid thread where you said that? But like many of your posts, makes sense.
Really? I said I wouldn’t be surprised if people supported violence in CHOP because people have supported random violence before on this forum.
You accuse me of “revisionist history” and asked another poster who backed up my claim to post the link to the conversation. I don’t blame him, but he didn’t want to. But I did.
You made a false accusation then asked for the link. Now try to call me out for linking exactly what you asked for and try to blame me for cross posting? You asked for the link! Don’t cry about it now that I proved you wrong in your accusation against me and Your biased against anyone who disagrees with you.
Unbelievable, some people never give up.

Finally CHOP is over.  Some of you terrorists actually thought this was a good idea/sustainable.
    Seriously?

If it makes you feel better, I’m not crying. And what I believe you posted, in its context, is not the same as someone saying, “open support of random violence against cops......” Again, I don’t remember it the way you’ve portrayed it.

You pulled a quote from someone who has 121 posts. You also said "several people". Kinda a stretch.

I would feel better if you cried a little.

So to you, making multiple statements promoting violence including “go ahead and beat as many cops as you want” is not open support of violence against cops?

I didn’t portray it or spin it in any way, I gave you a direct quote and link like you asked.

That is about as plain as it gets, he/she was promoting random violence against cops. I told you what day it happened, go back and read the whole thread. He/she never recanted or said he didn’t mean it like that or whatever. They wanted violence against cops. It happened. Here on the PJ forum. And people were okay with it. That’s not me portraying it in any way. I gave you the link to see for yourself.
I’m just surprised how quickly people forgot.

How many posts does a person need to count? One person isn’t several but it’s also not no one.

How many quotes am I required to provide?
Based off my memory I believe there were a few others who agreed, said things like “well peaceful protests haven’t worked, violence against cops is the next step.” I’m paraphrasing, and this was a month ago so I’m not going to go through pages of every topic.
It could have been the same poster defending his statement, but I don’t think so. Like I said, a month ago. How many quotes are really needed to say violence has been promoted here?

And do you really check post numbers? Who cares. I had no idea how many posts they made. What difference does it make? It was still said.
