TOUR CANCELLATION to get your refund

mcdevittpbmcdevittpb Posts: 212
Some, like Dead & Company, have outright cancelled their tours, so that fans can get direct refunds, which is especially needed for those affected financially during this crisis.

When the dates reschedule, they will be put on sale again.

Why doesn’t PJ do this?....

I personally prefer they continue to postpone.  But totally understand people need money in the bank right now.  Didn’t they announce a plan very recently that will allow people to request a refund from postponed shows?

I'm ok waiting for Pearl Jam (for now) but I check everyday to see if Guns N Roses has cancelled. That's money I could really use back.

Ticketmaster silently updated their policy stating that they would only offer refunds for canceled events. But even then, it seems hit or miss with some people getting refunds and some people being told to pound sand.

My understanding is that a touring act can either postpone or cancel. Cancellation allows refunds.  Postponement keeps your money in limbo. It is up to the band.

I Have over $3k in concert money ( PJ 6 shows plus OHANA, RATM, TOOL) sitting on an interest free credit card ( interest DUE FEB 2021) so im cool for now

I got furloughed 3 weeks ago, but woke up to the news my BOSS got his PPP Loan this morning.....so Thankful

People should have the option to get their money back, its a tough situation out there.....TM changing its policy was dirty

I think this is the most current policy:

So it seems like PJ has a limited time left to announce rescheduled dates before people can request a refund.

I still can’t get a refund for a show moved to a new date that I won’t be able to attend. How is that legal?

I prefer the postponement so that I know that I still have tickets for when the shows are rescheduled in the future (2021?).  After sweating through the lottery, I want to hold onto my seats and not go through that process again.

Same here. Moved the date to October a month ago. And won't offer refunds.

I was able to cancel PJ orders for Cali shows. It was pretty simple.

I’ll keep my tickets for a postponed tour thank you. People are allowed to get refunds. Even if not a perfect process.

I agree that people should be able to get refunds if they want/need their money back.  I wish TM was more flexible and offered that option for postponed shows.

You can get a refund now.  I have tickets to Oklahoma and MSG.  When I log into ticketmaster and view my Oklahoma City tickets, there is a button that says, click here for a refund.  I'm considering it for OKC, definitely not for MSG.

I kept my orders through 10c cause the locations were great, I refunded the shows I (foolishly?) added after the window closed.  I should have known Id want to go to several shows

    This.

There is absolutely no reason to cancel with the policy that they have in place. In one week time if they do not announce new dates people will get a refund on non 10C tickets if they choose to do so. If you have 10C tickets and want a refund you could have done that a month ago and still can do that now. You need to look back at your emails from March and reply to the one that goes with the 10C tickets you want to refund.

Groups canceling right now are not helping anybody imo. They are actually making it much harder for people down the road to get tickets again having to do the whole process all over. Let F2F and the refund policy they have in place now stand and when they get official new dates lets go!

Agreed, and I think even if they announce new dates there will also be a refund window - but don’t take my word for that.

    The above is for Canada/US.

I’d like a refund for my Euro show. Sturgill just canceled his arena tour so we could get refunds.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

The way I'm understanding it is that the bands have some discretion to offer refunds.  My friend was able to get his TM purchased Oak1 refunded a few weeks ago (well submitted it, it said 30 days to get the money).   I understand that a shittonne of people asking for money back at the same time makes things extremely challenging for TM/Promoters/Venues.

It's also my understanding that refunds will be available once the postponed dates are rescheduled.   I interpret this as "if wait until there are new days, we aren't going to get as big a run on tickets".

If the intent is to complete the tours.. even if it's a year or more than now, to refund those who want refunds.  I don't want to have to go through the whole ticket buying process over again.  I've got good tickets to both Oakland shows.

Same with RATM.  We scored decent tickets to RATM.  I don't want to deal with that all over again when it gets rescheduled.

Optimally the figure out how to get people refunds that need refunds.  I do understand why they're dragging their heals.   They're concerned too many people will ask for them at once and cause Financial problems.

That's my thoughts.  I really don't want them cancelled.

I got the foos one today as well.  My date is for october now.  I'm kind of torn on what to do.  Its 6 months away.  Going of what some specialists are saying there could be another bad outbreak again.

I took the refund option. I don't live in Phoenix for one. And if I did wind up wanting to go, I think it'll be easy to get tickets.

If that happens, it is likely it would be cancelled again.

I think it’s incredible that they’re scheduling events for August 2020 in the New Jersey area.  Incredible in the sense of “not credible”.  But maybe they know something we don’t.  I’ll take the optimism.  There’s a lot of pessimism around these days.  Or maybe just realism.

They actually rescheduled that date over a month ago. I think they’re just getting around to offering refunds now. I fully expect another reschedule though.

Same. I'm expecting all concerts for all artists to be cancelled until this time next year. I really hope I'm wrong.
